That's what I mean. The Lucifer from the comics was a 'guy' who was a deep character rooted in the mythology of the universe he came from, this one is going to be CSI with demons apparently.

The fact Bruckheimer's involved makes just as mismatched as Aaron Spelling with "Life with Lucy" the 29 years before.

I'm already getting flashbacks of Keanu as John Constantine from this...

That TV pitch about the Punisher being a cop by day moonlighting as a vligilante still stings in my mind for me.

The whole Punisher by night thing could work if they moved him out of the cop by day thing by the end of season one then full on punisher mode but this Lucifer show just sounds like they bought the rights for the potential established fanbase alone but refused to look up the character before forcing massive changes.

@neilhimself: I watched the LUCIFER pilot & suspect the show will become a guilty pleasure for a lot of people. Tom Ellis plays L like a sexymadbadDrWho.

@neilhimself: @whmullally Nope. It's real praise. You'll see what I mean when you see it: it felt like it shouldn't have worked, but it somehow does.

@neilhimself: @whmullally I always expect the worst, but loved @tomellis17's performance so much that the whole thing worked. I get why Fox greenlit it.

I was skeptical of the changes they made to iZombie and I ended up loving that show, so I will certainly give this one a chance. Haven't seen the trailer yet because I'm at work but I'll give it a look when I get home in a few hours.

I have yet to actually read the Lucifer solo comic, so I can't say anything in regards to how that series is put together, but we can only hope the police procedural angle is just something they use to draw viewers in and then more or less drop it entirely.

We don't need Castle with a fallen angel playing Castle. Mainly because Castle annoys me.

Based off the trailer I'll give it a shot, I'm a sucker for angel mythology. I will watch almost anything with a hint of angels in it.

The actor was great in Rush. This show will go over. Church groups will protest, I'm pretty sure. It will receive the Married with children protest bump. In fact isn't that one of the things that helped the infant fox network
