Colter looks fantastic as Luke Cage! Just the perfect size I imagined he would be.

I like the fact that these shows are all taking place in different neighborhoods in NYC, not that I am at all familiar with them, but it's nice to see a change of setting to fit each character.

Mike looks great as Luke Cage, and he's definitely in the right shape! I could definitely see him breaking through a brick wall.

Great to see another The Wire Alumni with Frankie Faison in the show.

I think they will hold of his prison origin for a potential second season.

hmm.. so does this mean we finally get to hear what the conversations in a black-culture barbershop are like in the Marvel world? They haven't even gone there in the comics yet. But they should.

What do you mean finally? I thought they were all like this:

Sounds good to me. And before you get into how Disney bans smoking on screen, it's a nasty habit and I'd rather not go back to the days when Gambit and Nick Fury made smoking look cool. Smoking went down 3% in the last ten years, it's seen as disgusting by the 83% who don't do it and the 17% who do try to take a smoke break in a back alley instead of in public.

I also don't want to see illicit drugs used in a positive light on screen either. I'm fine with Tony Stark being an alcoholic or Orson Randall being a heroin addict because those stories don't paint addiction in a positive light. The last thing that I want to see is a Marvel Superhero gain powers through cocaine use.

The only real exception I have to that is period pieces. It's weird that something in the 1940s doesn't have anyone smoking when it was so routine and taken for granted.

I'm not familiar with Luke Cage's rogues gallery, besides the villains already announced, what other villains should show up in this series?

They're obviously holding Styker back for a potential season 2.

Probably purposely waiting on Micheal K. Williams at this point since it's already looking like it's trying to emulate The Wire.

You forgot Chemistro and Nightshade.

Definitely hope to see Chemistro.

Big Ben Donovan, henchman/lawyer. Big Brother, "what if hackers had the power of the NSA". The Mangler, yes he IS a superstrong wrestler! Coldfire, Luke Cage's evil brother...

Why are so many Luke Cage villains fish or snakes?

And I have a soft spot for the Archie Goodwin Firebolt:

He looks pretty good in that photo, size-wise! Happy about it!

Yea he looks fine. I think fans need to get over this size thing. He's exactly the right size a live action tv protagonist should look. If people in the real world all had comic book proportions we would all look like body builders and fitness models. It's unrealistic. He's a big guy that's in shape, but is still physically relatable. Cast Terry Crews would be better cast Tombstone.

I have no idea where that manip came from or who made it. But god bless his soul. :funny:

The strange thing is, as weird as it seems, it's actually very easy for me to picture him shouting "These are all crap! Parker, get me pictures of Spider-Man! And make them decent this time!"

Ditto, it's kinda uncomfortable. Anyways I really hope they have some serious examples of Luke's strength in this series. Like him lifting cars and stuff or something along those lines.

Because IMDb says so...?

Yea I've been wondering something similar regarding to the way they portray his invulnerability. With the grounded nature of the Netflix shows I don't see bullets bouncing off his face like Superman. Bullets might even sting a bit like getting slapped. I'd like to see him react to getting shot, even if its like a flinch upon impact. I think that would work better than him walking into a hail of bullets and smiling as the ricochet of his face. Also his strength might be downplayed. He'll flip cars but it might take more effort for him than it would for like Thor or the Hulk.

Yeah. Comic-canon, of course, Luke is pictured as yawning while he cosplays a stone wall with a hail of bullets hit him. But that would lower the realism. After seeing part of the Supergirl trailer, I imagine it'll play a little bit like that. Bullets are like little stings.
:supes:

I'm very disappointed that there's no little pixel Power Man yet.

One thing Ive wondered since they've announced The Defenders. Will Luke and Jessica be the only ones without costumes? Iron Fist and Daredevil have these elaborate outfits, while apart from a trademark yellow shirt maybe, Luke and JJ do most of their hero stuff in their civies.
