Isaiah Mustafa really wants to be Luke Cage

You may not know the name Isaiah Mustafa but you know his face. He is "the man on the horse" in the quirky Old Spice commercials. Mustafa stopped by G4 Thursday to talk about the making of his new OS commercial, which is a pretty cool step by step walk through.

However, when he finished discussing the commercials Kevin Pereira asked him about his personal plans beyond Old Spice.

Here is his response and where it gets interesting to CBM fans...

"Well I'm starting on a movie Monday that's called Free Enterprise 2. It's a sequel to the cult classic Free Enterprise about comic books. I'm a comic junkie myself."

"I will say this...please, get this thing going. I want to be Luke Cage, OK ! I want to be Luke Cage! You have no idea, I mean really, yes. I made a dream board of it and put my face on the comic. I said I want to be Luke Cage one day."

I agree 100% with this statement, the Old Spice guy wouldn't be bad for Falcon though.

At first I was wondering who the guy was, and then it was mentioned that he's the Old Spice guy. Seeing how awesome he is in those commercials, I can see him being awesome as Luke Cage. He sounds like he really wants to do it too, so I think Marvel should go for it.

I want the Old Spice guy too. He's the dad in 'Everybody Hates Chris' & he's calm in that show. So, he's just not some "FUNNY, ANGRY GUY WHO CAN YELL!!!!"

Hes certainly charismatic, and at a point where he could bulk up more to get the role, I just dont know how he can act.

Wow. I just thought of this possibility myself, and not only is there already a thread, but Mustafa is interested in the part.

I'm not sure how serious of a suggestion it is--never seen the guy in anything serious or longer than a minute.

Still, he's likeable, built like a superhero, has a great voice, and wants the part. Definitely worth a screen test if they get serious about a Cage movie in the next few years.
