Zoe Saldana joins the cast

Zoe Saldana is the latest name to join the cast of Robert Rodriguez's Machete Kills. Leading man Danny Trejo let the information slip in a recent interview with Moviehole.

"[It's] is going to be a lot more over-the-top than 'Machete'," said Trejo. "We’ve got Sofia Vergara, who is a star in her own right, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez and Zoe Saldana. And guess what? I get to kiss all of ‘em.”

The film is also said to include roles for Mel Gibson and Amber Heard in a storyline that sees ex-federale Machete (Trejo) recruited by the U.S. government to stop an arms dealer (Gibson) from launching a deadly missile.

Saldana recently finished production on the still-untitled Star Trek sequel and is now shooting Out of the Furnace.

Machete Kills begins production soon in Austin, Texas.

I like the sound of this, but this will be like Sin City 2 and take forever if it even happens at all.

I remember being pumped for Machete, but it was pretty tame. Didn't live up to the hype for me, although the character is still ****ing cool. The movie can be summed up by that quick Alba shower shot ----> it's nice, but it's no where near enough.

I was heartbroken to find out that Alba naked scene was shopped.

Oh, this keeps getting better and better (especially the growing female cast members). I hope this comes out this year, since Rodriguez likes pumping his movies out quickly. Or maybe an early 2013 release.

True but my illusion was shot by knowing it. If no one would have told me I could have lived blissfully unaware.
I did not now the abs part though. That seems strange I remember seeing the "before" pic and she looked fantastic albiet more clothed than the finished product.

I think she was alright&kinda funny in Three Brothers,But eh I still prefer her the most in the Spanish show from the 90's that made her famous..She was a co-host and they would go on a tour in different places around the world each week,She was funny&darn sexy each episode..especially the ones where she would be at a beach in a tight&small bikini and in Daisy Duke shorts interviewing people!!!
