cool, July 26th seems pretty far away! and there will be a FF2 picture cover?

Cool, always ready for some DIFFERENT news......lol

why did thy say super this isnt superman this is fantastic four!!!!

BUT, don't post scans from Wizard....we've gotten in trouble for those scans.

Cool thanks for the update i'll be sure to pick it up then.

In the one Issue of wizard the current one i think there's a bunch of polls and what they liked about the first movie and what they would like to see in the sequels its pretty cool. if i get the time i'll type it up. i'm pretty sure its the one with the black spidey suit on the cover.

The fans speak out on their ideal sequel. To last summer's Hit "Fantastic Four" movie.
With filming on 20th century fox and marvel studio's Fantastic Four 2 starting this summer, Marvel's first family will be making it's way back to the big screen bfore
you know it.And while director Tim story and crew haven't finalized there plans for the second film, Wizard asked the fans on wizarduniverse.com to find out what FF
characters, creatures, and stories the ymost want to see on the big screen in 2007

ALL THESE QUESTIONS WHERE SHOWN IN A GRAPH. I'LL POST THE NUMBERS AND WHO THEY VOTED.

WHAT VILLAIN WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE THE FANTASTIC FOUR FACE IN THE SEQUEL
53% VOTED - GALACTUS
18% VOTED - DR. DOOM AGAIN
16% VOTED - MOLEMAN
13% VOTED - NEGATIVE ZONE VILLAINS

A hands down endorsement from the fans for the two-eyed, two-horned, giant purple planer-eater.Galactus stands as both the fan-favorite villain and the hardest one
to pull off on the big screen.

IF DOOM RETURNS WHAT IMPROVEMENTS SHOULD THEY MAKE TO THE CHARACTER?
61% voted - He has to be more of a badass.
23% voted - Doom must refer to himself in the third person more.
9% voted - None. He wasfine the way he was.
7% voted - They need to tone him down a bit.He was too ver the top!

While Julian McMahon made some impressive moves once in the armor, his Victor Von Doom left more than a few fans scratching their heads because of his lack od depth and shallow dynamic between him and Reed. With any luck a sequel would see doom revel in his evil ways

WHICH SUPPORTING CHARACTER FROM THE FIRST FILM WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE RETURN?
45% voted - Alicia Masters (Kerry Washington)
35% voted - Willie Lumpkin (Stan Lee)
19% voted - Debbie Mclivane (Laurie Holden)
1% voted - Sexy Nurse (Maria Menounos)

As mailman Willie Lumpkin, Stan le delivered his greatest performance since that one scene in "mallrats" but he still couldn't best Kerry Washington's spotlight-stealing turn as Ben Grimm's blind would-be girlfriend.

WHICH SECONDARY SUPPORTING CHARACTER SHOULD APPEAR?
61% VOTED - THE WATCHER
14 % VOTED - DR. NATE RICHARDS
13% VOTED - AGATHA HARKNESS
12% VOTED - WYATT WINGFOOT

While there have been any number of bizarre cast members running around the Baxter Building in nearly 50 years of Fantastic Four Comics, no one has staked a claim in the heart like The Watcher. And with prosthetics what they are, recreating his giant head on screen should be a snap.

WHAT FANTASTIC FOUR GADGET/STAPLE DO YOU WANT TO SEE?
43% VOTED - THE NEGATIVE ZONE
24% VOTED - ULTIMATE NULLIFIER
18% VOTED - H.E.R.B.I.E.
15% VOTED - FF SIGNAL GUN

Let's get this straight. Reed Richards is the world's foremost scientific mind, and his greatest achievements include a portal to a world full of hostil aliens, a floating midget robot anda flare gun? Why does Jessica Alba get with him?

WHAT DON'T YOU WANT TO SEE IN A "FANTSTIC FOUR" SEQUEL?
39% VOTED - H.E.R.B.I.E.
26% VOTED - FRANKLIN RICHARDS
24% VOTED - FANTASTIC FARCE
11% VOTED - THE YANCY ST. GANG

Annoying Robots vs. annoying children might make for a fun video game. But in terms of thispoll, they're simpky the aspects of Fantastic Four history that fans would most like to forget.Nothing kills a great comic book movie like a goofy sidekick characters and H.E.R.B.I.E. and Franklin rank among the goofiest.

WHICH CHARACTER'S BACKSTORY WOULDYOU LIKE TO SEE EXPANDED ON?
47% VOTED - THE THING
24% VOTED - MR FANTASTIC
16% VOTED - THE INVISIBLW WOMAN
13% VOTED - THE HUMAN TORCH

Michael Chiklis delivered the best performance of the first film as the ever-lovin',blue eyeed Thing. so it's no wonder he ran away with this poll fpr character fans wanted to get more of in a sequel. With more Alicia Masters romance to be workout, Ben Grimm seems the most probable pick as well.

DO YOU THINK THE TEAM'S COSTUMES NEED TO BE CHANGED AT ALL?
49% VOTED - JUST KEEP JESSICA ALBA IN SPANDEX!
40% VOTED - NO, THEY WHERE SPOT ON!
11% VOTED - THEY'RE AWFUL! GO BACK TO THE CLASSICS!

Now here's a fan reaction we can get behind! While past comic films like "Daredevil" and "batmanandRobin" dre fan ire for rendtions of hero uniforms,"Fantastic Four" proved that it's not the suit--- it's how you work it.

IF THEY DO ALTER THE COSTUMES WHICH COMIC-INSPIRED CHANGE WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE?
63% VOTED - INVISIBLE WOMAN'S "4" CUT-OUT CUSTUME
23% VOTED - JOHNNY'S RED UNIFORM A' LA THE 1940'S TORCH
11% VOTED - REED WITH ABEARD
3% VOTED - THING WITH A HELMET

Did we even need to ask this question? While the FantasticFour have had their share of costume changes over the years, Sue's "barely visble" period is still a standout, and seeing Ms. Alba fill out that uniform wouldn't hurt box office number a bit.

WHAT CRAZY REED RICHARDS INVENTION WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE?
54% VOTED - THE FANTASICAR
33% VOTED - THE NEGATIVE ZONE PORTAL
10% VOTED - THE ROBOT RECEPTIONIST
3% VOTED - THE POGO PLANE

Sure, Mr . Fantastic didn't build a lot of world-changing, cancer-curing machines in his day. But hisstuff sure did look crazy! The Fantasicar took top honors with the fans virtue of having a name as ridiculous as it's design

A MILLION COSMIC-STYLE CHARACTERS HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED IN THE FANTASTIC FOUR. WHO SHOULD POP UP IN THE NEW FILM?
56% VOTED - SILVER SURFER
26% VOTED - THE SKRULLS
16% VOTED - THE INHUMANS
2% VOTED - BLASTAAR

No surprise here, as the Silver Surfer, the only FF supporting character to carry a successful solo book of his own, wins easily. but don't count out fan favorite the skrulls as possible movie stars, especally considering the fact that marvel loves to ink characters like the Surfer into their own film franchises.

IF SILVER SURFER APPEARS WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE PLAY HIM?
23% VOTED - WRITE IN YOUR CHOICE
22% VOTED - JAKE GYLLENHAAL
19% VOTED - JOHN MALKOVICH
18% VOTED - ADRIEN BRODY
18% VOTED - RYAN GOSLING

The most famous of all the Fantastic Four supporting cast and frequent Tarantino film reference, the role of the Silver Surfer needs to be a top star in the role. Fans where torn who should be the herald of Galactus, with a slight majority going to write-in-votes for famous bald actors including Vin Diesel and Billy Zane.

IF THERE IS ONE AREA WHERE THE SPECIAL EFFECTS NEED THE MOST IMPROVEMENT,WHAT WOULD THEY BE
44% VOTED - DOOMS POWERS
26% VOTED - REEDS STRETCHING
23% VOTED - BENS CLOBBERING
7% VOTED - JOHNNY'S FLAMES

Electric bolts from his fingers? If there's one area where thr first " Fantastic Four" moved dropped the ball, it wasshowing a watered-down version of doom and fans know it. Here's hoping next time out we get a full-on raving mnarch who's a master of both super-science amd mysticism, as well as a few legions o dommbots to sweeten the pot.

OF THE FOLLOWING WHAT WAS THE BEST THING ABOUT THE FIRST FILM?
37% VOTED - CHRIS EVAN'S PERFORMANCE AS JOHNNY STORM
33% VOTED - SEEING JESSICA ALBA IN THE COSTUME FOR THE FIRST TIME
22% VOTED - THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE ACTION SEQUENCE
8% VOTED - WIZARD STAFFER RICHARD HO'S CAMEO

No love for our own Richard Ho's turn asa reporter(quite a stretch, huh) but fans did warm up to chris evans as the eternally sarcastic Johnny Storm, with Jessica Alba's spandex debut pulling a close second.

OVERALL, ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT SEEING THE SEQUEL?
63% VOTED - YES, I'LL SEE IT ON OPENING WEEK
31% VOTED - I DON'T REALLY CARE, I MAY OR MAY NOT SEE IT. DEPENDING ON THE BUZZ.
6% VOTED - HECK NO, IT SHOULD BEGIN AND WITH THE FIRST FILM

If the Spider-Man or X-men franchises are the only indications, marvel films tend to step their game in sequels. which leaves the fans wanting more action then ever before. With the orgin out of the way hopes are high for a Fantastic Four film that provides as much cosmic crazyness as it's comic book inspiration

J Alba's Lover thanks alot for posting that, really good read. Thanks

I think some heads at Fox might have seen this as almost every winning thing in all the polls seem to be confirmed for the sequel.

Thanks JAL for that.
Malkovich as SS will never happen. I'm 90% sure it won't.

Studios taking on tie-ins
Pix prep for Gotham confab

By ADDIE MORFOOT

Studios have retooled and amped up tie-ins for a spate of tried-and-true franchises to wow retailers at the Licensing 2006 Intl. show June 20-22 at GothamGotham's Javits Convention Center.
Sony, Disney, Fox and Warner Bros. are among the studios hoping to recapture attention with new installments of old properties hitting the bigscreen next summer.

"Spider-Man 3" (Sony), "Pirates of the Caribbean 3" (Disney), "The Simpsons Movie" (Fox), "Fantastic Four 2" (20th) and the latest "Harry Potter" pic (Warners) are expected to be hot multiplatform properties.

The seemingly safe properties actually pose a challenge for movie marketers: devising new products for franchises that have been on the market before and are, in some cases, entering their third installments.

For example, "The Simpsons," which has been a marketing bonanza for two decades, will get a makeover when "The Simpsons Movie" is released in summer 2007. Keeping its made-over product line under wraps, Fox is angling to capture a broader audaud than just fans of the TV skeinskein. And the studio is acutely aware that it must find newcomers to the cult of Bart and Homer.

"We are never satisfied with taking existing product and putting a 'Simpsons' piece of graphic on it," said Elie Dekel, Fox exec VP of licensing and merchandising. "The brand is a constant development, a constant evolution. The movie is a pivotal event to the 'Simpson' universe, an event that will set in motion new products specifically attributed to the film," she added.

"Story extension provides different opportunities," said Vince Klaseus, senior VP of franchise management and marketing for Disney consumer products, of the third "Pirates" installment. "Since there are new characters and new locations, that opens the door for a whole host of new product segments. From a look standpoint, the packaging will be different."

I think this event will be the first place they'll show off the Fantastic Four 2 teaser poster and maybe even clips from the upcoming animated show.

Fantastic news for Vancouver

by Dustin Dinoff
page 15

Vancouver - The first family of Marvel is returning to Vancouver, as Fantastic Four 2 begins shooting in August for Twentieth Century Fox, under director Tim Story, who also helmed the first installment. Most of the key players are said to be returning, including producers Bernd Eichinger (Resident Evil: Apocalypse), Ralph Winter (Lost), Marvel Comics CEO Avi Arad and screenwriter Mark Frost (Twin Peaks). Ioan Gruffudd (King Arthur), Michael Chiklis (The Shield), Chris Evans (Cellular) and Jessica Alba (Sin City) will all return as well. Details about the plot are still sketchy, but Internet rumors swirl about the possibility of an appearance by comic icon Silver Surfer.

The sequel is being earmarked for a June 15, 2007 release, moved from its original July 4 date, which would have seen it go head-to-head with the upcoming Transformers feature from DreamWorks. The first Fantastic Four film shot in Vancouver and went on to amass more than $300 million at the box office last summer.

Update on the content of Wizard 179...

I'm confused....these articles are written in advance, of course, of the release date of the magazine....so does this mean that they've been shooting before hand????? I hope..... maybe????? heres hoping......:)

Something tells me that they have slready started shooting this movie.

They have SETS ready. They are doing CGI design for silver surfer.

I think everyone is hiding a lot of stuff from us. I have a feeling they have already shot some cool stuff and later in august they will start shooting with the actors.

I mean common as of now we are in a MUCH BETTER position than X3 was!!! And that movie still turned out to be a whole lot better than i thought. MUCH BETTER ACTION, SFX, a cool story. In my opinion it was the best x-men movie.

Btw guys i DO NOT want anyone to start saying that x3 sucked and x2 was good or x1.
And i DO NOT want any arguments about which x-men movie was good PERIOD.

I hope that this means we will have some castle sets and small villages to be Castle Doom and Latveria.
