Oooooh lots of people have a sense of humor.....and not everyone is here to bash the movie before they've seen it......maybe a couple....

The rest are simply giving their thoughtful ideas, hopes, and suggestions...just because they aren't 100% doesn't mean a thing....just means they want more than what they got in the first. Everyone should want that to a certain degree.....nothing wrong with that...

ummm, FF2 with Tim Story again, and a cgi Silver Surfer... I smell cheese.

I think we have totally lost the reason for this thread...

I'm confused....these articles are written in advance, of course, of the release date of the magazine....so does this mean that they've been shooting before hand????? I hope..... maybe????? heres hoping......:)

Something tells me that they have slready started shooting this movie.

They have SETS ready. They are doing CGI design for silver surfer.

I think everyone is hiding a lot of stuff from us. I have a feeling they have already shot some cool stuff and later in august they will start shooting with the actors.
Well, principal photography starts in a few weeks so i'd hope they have sets up!

Designing doesn't mean they've started filming.I doubt anything has been shot yet.

Yeah, lets get back on topic.

MARVEL MOVIES
Showing there's just no stopping those comic books making it to the big screen, producer Avi Arad tells us about Spidey 3, Hulk 2 and the rest.

Update: According to hype member RobW29 Avi does talk about FF2 in this interview. Not sure what he says though.

Here's the qoute from FF2 producer Avi Arad that appeared in SFX Magazine thanks to hype member RobW29.

RobW29 said:
Regarding FF2, theere was nothing really earth-shattering. He confirms Silver Surfer but refuses to confirm any appearance of Galactus. As in the comics, Surfer will be "The same kind of philosophical character, commenting on our world". Apparently, they're plugging for the same tone as the first film, and he said that "The interaction between the Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer is at the heart of the movie and it should be amazing."

What does "Apparently, they're plugging for the same tone as the first film."? is that from this Rob guy? or part of the actual article and is simply commentary on his part?

Can someone invite RobW29 to check in here? I'd like to find out more about what he saw. Is the magazine available at US bookstores?

Why not just pm the guy if he's on here?

Here it is... The full, albeit fairly short article.

First astounding appearance:
The Fantastic Four 1.
November 1961

The pulse-pounding premise:
The Cosmic Ray-powered quartet rebound for a second dysfunctional adventure, encountering another Marvel Comics icon.. or two.

Although there were rumors of a Silver Surfer movie, Arad notes that the shiny star-traveller will debut within the context of Fantastic Four 2, which is reaching screens in July 2007. Does this mean the film will deal with the story of Galactus, for whom the Surfer is a herald?

"I cannot tell you we're doing the Galactus story, but I can say that the Silver Surfer is coming," Arad teasers. "I'm not denying or confirming Galactus. Like in the comic, the Silver Surfer will be the same type of philosophical character. commenting on our world. The tone of the film will be similar to the first film. We caught a great tone in that movie and we are going to continue with that. The interaction between the Silver Surfer and the Fantastic Four will be at the heart of this movie and it should be amazing."

Thanks!

I'm not sure how much weight I put on Avi's comments, but that's interesting. I'm leaning more toward thinking they will have Galactus show up at the end as a cliff-hanger which would be pretty cool.

I wouldn't put any weight on it....wasn't it him that was talking puppetmaster a few months ago???

I'm not sure that he ever specifically said he would be the villain. He did say that he liked the Puppetmaster and if he could have superpowers, he would want to have the Puppetmaster's ability . . .

. . . which I found . . . disturbing . . . to say the least.

True....

It seems that they want to keep it rather lighthearted and humerous then, which is probably a good idea.

I wish someone would actually confirm whether or not Doom will be in this.
