Magnum P.I.

So they just couldn't put it on Peacock?
Hmmmmm......that's sort of an interesting idea. If they really wanted to, I don't see why not. Maybe they could make more money by shopping it???

Would Amazon Prime mean that the series is dropped all at once? I wouldn't like that binge format as I prefer the staggered weekly episodes.

This would be a deal like Picard where Amazon doesn't own the show or produce it so I'd imagine a weekly format unless Universal wanted it all released at once.

Okay, they drop it all at once and you watch one a week. Problem suddenly solved.

For me, it really depends on the structure of the season. With something like Strange New Worlds, I don't mind, and rather like, the weekly format because the episodes are basically self contained. With a show like Discovery, I wait until all the episodes are in because it's generally one longer story with constant cliffhangers. In any case, like you say, it doesn't matter "how" the episodes drop. You always have a choice on how to view them.

It's just shy of the 100 episode mark which is what they prefer for syndication. A the very least they should give it another proper 20 episode season after this split, and a definitive ending when it is over.

Zachary Knighton said on Instagram last night that his understanding of the plan is they'll do 10 episodes this upcoming season due to the late pickup/start and then S6 would likely be when any additional episodes past the guaranteed 10 for that season are ordered if the show is doing well.

Great news to hear it has been picked up for 2 more seasons. Kind of the opposite of what happened to JAG which aired on NBC for one season, was cancelled and then picked up by CBS and went for 9 more seasons and spawned all the NCIS spin-offs.

I wish it was 13 episodes instead of 10. 10 goes by very quickly.
