I think you might have missed this:

If your going to cut the brim down. I recommend using some tailors chalk to mark it out first, and try to conform to the shape of the existing brim. Also do yourself a favour and purchase a rotary cutter.

i saw that, but what i was wondering, was about how on the hat now the fabric is folded and sewn over the edge. it's hard to explain. but how would i get it to look like that again?

All the pics of the hat up close from the film look like its a raw edge brim. That is if you're going for the movie costume.

thats true, i hadn't noticed that before, thanks. but i'd be afraid that the edges would fray, and also that site claims that the welt ones hold up and retain their shape better

I've cut brims, on wool felt hats, they don't fray bad at all, at least so far.

I just emailed Warner Bros. asking about Rorschach's trench coat. I'm still waiting to hear from them. Anyone think it'll work?

dude you should definitely go as rorschach as well!
you went as indy? freakin awesome haha
well the hose mask was a horrible idea...so much work and no pay off so i trashed that idea and im thinkin about gettin a spandex mask(although i seem to fall upon millions of sex shops while tryin to find one that isnt shiny or...well strange...)

finally broke down and bought this....the tshirt mask was just too hard to breathe with....anyone wanna give me any tips on how to get a movie style rorschach on my mask? to add the rough grayness to the edges....should i iron on again(if i can)? or try to marker it? which is prolly tough

I'd still try and iron-on, it's usually the most effective and realistic.

I'm working on making a new movie style rorschach face as well, just for fun or for if anyone wants to use it.

im gonna iron on....but what face should i iron on...i want it to be really cool...like the face you made a while back tortel

Why don't you iron on and then touch up the edge with fabic paint and a brush. If you water the fabric paint down you can achieve the transitional greyness.
