Man Beheads Woman In Front of Horrified Onlookers

<--- Bermudian in the house. And yes as of 2001 it is considered to be officially in the Carribean.

Don't knock them until you have seen native life in all those islands. Living conditions can change drastically from one to another.

i was thinking about this at work today, i think i overheard someone talking about it.

in an event like this, i dont know how i would react. id like to think that if something like that came up, that in the moment i would try to act, but i can't say for sure. when something so shocking and spontaneous happens, you dont always know what you will do.

i keep seeing the commercial for the World Trade DVD and I keep thinking of the flight that landed in Pennslyvania. Had the passengers just sat and did nothing, that plane wouldve probably crashed into the Pentagon and they all woulve most likely died. They took it upon themselves to do something, and I applaud them for that. i only hope that if i was in a situation like that, i would do something too.

I'm with Dog lips on this one. I'd would of been in there like *snaps fingers* that. I'm proud of my record of getting involved in sticky situations.....Besides I've been attacked by someone with a machete before and its scary after the first swing but once you get the guy down and its over, then you feel like your unstoppable.

Damn, so many heroes here.......

Guess all Bush has to do is log in to the Hype and he can borrow some people who can end the whole mess in one fell swoop :oldrazz:

I'd never fight for Bush....nore would I fight for Harper....Oh and I've only really put myself in real danger to save my own hide so far....the most I've done to help someone is stop them from getting an ass kicking.

Me either.....I swear if that draft bull**** passes in the future, I will need a safehouse north of the border to hide out for a bit. So keep a heads up, I may be sending a PM out to all Canadians, lol.

People are so stupid, they most likely could of stop that dude and they did nothing...

i think most people would want to stop it, but witnessing something like that would just be so shocking and quick that you might not have time to actually process what's happening and get your body to respond to the situation fast enought to actually stop it. think about it, you're sitting on a bus looking out the window and you see some guy grab this lady, throw her down and start hacking away. if i wasn't prepared to witness something that brutal, and who would be, i think i'd just stare in shock at what was happening before my eyes. shock is pretty dibilitating and would definitely hinder any kind of decision making process you were going through. i'm sure instinct would kick in eventually, but not likely fast enough to stop what was happening, unfortunately.
I guess you're just a selfish bastard like me. :whatever:

No, I'm not saying I'd be a hero, or that I'm some kind of badass

I am.

A sprinting, field goal kick to the junk seems like a viable option to me. And if I blocked the machete with my arm, it might get stuck and then he wouldn't be able to hit me again. Then, whenever anyone asked me "Dude, what happened to your arm?" I could say, "I saved a woman's life by fighting a psycho with a machete." Yeah, that's sweet.

And if you tackle the guy from behind and he is going to have a hard time swinging that machete at you. Maybe it's because I'm 6'7", 270 lbs, only have 6% body fat and have a black belt in 7 different forms of martial arts, but I can say without a doubt that I would have done something and everyone who was physically able to, but didn't, should hate themselves forever because they suck at life.

Rock on, super monkey!

Btw, do you know Ninjitsu? I really wanna learn that form of martial arts.

And then you woke up.

Ok, well actually I'm a 6'0", 180 pound guy who's in fairly good shape, knows some brazilian jujitsu, is a fairly decent and wrestler and probably has a mild hero complex, but I can still say I wouldn't have just stood there. Seriously, that's not how I've been raised and frankly, it's just not right.

(Also, I just looked up 'hero complex' on Wikipedia to see if it really meant what I thought it meant, and holy crap; if that article is accurate then I most certainly do have one.)

I can honestly say I wouldn't have been paying attention. Especially if I had a window seat

I completely agree. It's easy to say that in situation like this we would immediately do something to help, when in reality your actions is as predictable as flipping a coin. You have to take into consideration that most people aren't equipped to handle situations like this; most of us would never have thought that this could happen to us. And when it does the experience seems surreal, your mind cannot believe that this is happening, you're in shock.
It's not just a matter of selfishness, you have to consider this aspect as well.
