Man dressed like The Joker slain by police in park

so how long before the media goes ape**** about the destructive power comics had on his poor fragile mind

What's up with the hostility towards the Bat Boards? I could understand if it was over enthusiasm for a festering cesspool of a movie like Bayformers 2, but the Dark Knight? An actual good movie? Just lighten up for God's sake. Are you like Marvel fans?

points exactly.

why the stun gun? why not stay with the knife? don't you want to savor all the little..... emotions?

I wonder if he was Joker 89' or TDK Joker. If he dressed up as 1989 Joker, he deserved it.

No way. The 1989 suit would have required him to do work to get it. The TDK suit is stuff you can find on a homeless guy.

Scary thing is... Fort Eustis is about 45 minutes from my hometown, and Front Royal is 45 minutes north of my college.

Of course they'll blame it on comics and not on the corrupt military.
Chances are, neither one is to blame. This man was probably just plain ol' psycho to begin with, and the comics and military only gave him the idea and skills respectively.

Well, there are 3 types that join the military:

Psychos
Kids that need money to go to school/want to get out of the situation they are in
And rednecks

I still think the military is corrupt, and sure as hell don't think they do a good job of evaluating soldiers psychologically.

People who don't want to go to college
People who actually want to fight for their country

The military is no more corrupt than any given police force, they've got their share of bad examples, but for the most part, they do their job.

They sure as hell don't do a good job of evaluating people psychologically. Their main concern is having functional soldiers, not functional individuals, and being slightly crazy is a boon in war.

Yea you have got to be slightly unhinged to join the army, where you know, you get paid to kill people.

Sounds right up my alley

Add to that: People suited for the intense trials of the military are not the same as people who aren't suited for the intense trials of the military. Don't think it's strange if there's a whole bunch of people that go through a grueling time in basic only to be shipped to BFME to shoot at moms, dads, and kids and then come back a little bit "different".

Exactly.

If anyone's to blame, it's Nolan and Ledger. If their Joker had any type of fashion-sense, like the comics Joker does, this would've never happened.

Actually I must say, the coat Joker had in TDK is definitely not cheap. They things are frickin well expensive!

No it's not. That stuff is like the jeans with holes in them. In a store it's marked up b/c it's trendy. You can find it in a thrift store or the Salvation Army's store for a $1.

Wha...? The coat with the red silk lining? Those duffle/trench coats are well expensive. About £200 a pop.

But crazy Brit money is worth more than ours. [crazy Pound symbol I can't make]200 has gotta be over $300.

Actually, that sounds way too expensive. I have a heavy long coat that costs less than $100.
