It is all opinion anyway.
HOwever, Superman is not as popular as he once was. That is a fact. He is opening well but Jack Sparrow has more hype because to modern audiences (in America anyway) he IS the bigger icon on film.
Some people will just have to eat crow like they did when they said BB would make more than Episode III. The truth hurts.
Oh well.
There is such a difference between Pirates and Star Wars it isn't funny. Same with Batman and Superman. Superman is more equal to Spidey then anything, where Batman is more alongside the X-Men.

It came out of nowhere and provided a great experience for audiences that hadn't been seen in a long time. That is the main selling point that it has going for it. Superman has a lot more riding on him; Some people wanted a Smallville movie (sadly), others refuse to accept anyone other than Christopher Reeves as Superman (sadly; It's like saying no one can play James Bond except Connery); Some just think Superman is a lame superhero and have no interest because other heroes are "cooler" (even though most of them wouldn't exist if it hadn't been for his success). The MTV generation of today (which I am unfortunately a part of) doesn't really have as big an interest in Superman, and hopefully strong word of mouth will help keep it in the top 10 for the summer, like Batman Begins did last year.
Well considering you think this Star Wars then think back to Empire. A film that didn't come close with the first film in terms of numbers (Even though it could be the best film), with a very similar darker feel to it. The heroes don't win the day again. Our Han Solo is going to meet a Han Solo like fate.
