Newsweek reported it at $204, and Singer himself said it was around $200 million.J Alba's Lover said:box-office mojo has it listed as 260 million. plus they already had a major flop in poisdon which cost 150 or more and your probably thinking what does that have to do with Sr. thats cause they put alot into both of these and have not even made half of what they put into both.
I'm just saying. plus remember bay's last movie. the island? it turned out to beone of the biggest flops of 2005. 120 budget 12 opening week. so that could worry some people.Erzengel said:Any movie has the potentional not to do well but tell me that TF isn't one of the most anticipated movies next year from an unbiased standpoint.
Erzengel said:Yes. But still people are looking forward to it. It could do well, it couldn not but saying it will bomb without even knowing anything about it is very presumptious.
i'm not trying to argue. but when something doesn't mke whatthey expect it to make there not gonna be willing to make another sequel and if one is made its gonna be made on a lower budget.CConn said:Newsweek reported it at $204, and Singer himself said it was around $200 million.
I doubt WB would take Poseidon's earnings in account for a Superman sequel. And haven't even lost all that much money with Poseidon; only 10 million, and they still have the DVD sales to account for.

Simmer down there chief. i didn't say it would bomb. likle Conn said like many know or remember it.Erzengel said:Yes. But still people are looking forward to it. It could do well, it couldn not but saying it will bomb without even knowing anything about it is very presumptious.
GoldenAgeHero said:hmm people said the same about SR,look how that turned out. i like transformers........beastars to be exact. never liked the truck version.

and as for poseidon the domestic take was $57,436,803
while the production budget was 160 million. it might hve done better in the foreign market but studio's care more about the domestic take.
and here's the thing for SR.
Production Budget: $260 million
Domestic $106,038,000
And how do you know what WB was expecting SR to make? The only people I heard predicting SR would do Spider-Man-like numbers were fanboys.J Alba's Lover said:i'm not trying to argue. but when something doesn't mke whatthey expect it to make there not gonna be willing to make another sequel and if one is made its gonna be made on a lower budget.
Yes, which means they'll never be a sequel to Poseidon. But that doesn't mean they lost money on it.J Alba's Lover said:and as for poseidon the domestic take was $57,436,803

And again, where did box office mojo get that $260 mllion dollar estimate from? I at least have rather knowledgable sources to back up my estimate.J Alba's Lover said:and here's the thing for SR.

i'm just saying now. don't get upset. but don't they usually look at the first week totals to determine if it get a sequel or not or if it's a successErzengel said:Why don't you wait to see how much it makes at the end and add the foreign gross to that?
cmill216 said:Not with Spidey, Shrek, Potter, Bourne and the Pirates hanging around.
Gee i wonder where they got one from?Erzengel said:TF's does have a very nice release date.

I used to love this show. Seriously, I treated it like a religion.
I also liked Beast Machines, but it's not nearly as good as Wars. I always loved the twist though that. First time I found that out I was like "Tankor was Rhinox..."
cmill216 said:But you asked anticipation, correct? And in regards to anticipation, it isn't nearly as big of a blip as the films I mentioned.
I can't make any judgements on the film (as far as predictions go) until I see an ACTUAL trailer and who they are trying to target this film to. But it does have potential for good business.
