Man of Steel vs Superman: The Movie

I'm pretty sure if every man could save a woman more than once, using heat vision and the ability of flight, then sporadic kisses from woman would be a regular thing.. LMAO. Either way, it was never implied that they were in love.

Oh, of course it wasn't maybe "love' but the start of it. And still, firemen and policemen save women all the time, do they start kissing because of it?

I don't know, I'm neither. I would imagine it happens from time to time. Also, every woman is different, some react to situations different from others.

He knows that Lois was investigating a man with superpowers, but suddenly dropped the story. He saw her kissing Superman and wasn't that far away. Perry is a smart guy, he sees a guy who has the same height, weight, hair color, facial features, body structure, and a somewhat similar voice to Superman applying for a job at the DP. He saw Lois and Clark interact in the final scene. He could probably put the pieces together.

The right people know Superman's secret. What was great about Tdk trilogy is that quite a few people knew who he was. So he was able to bounce ideas off people and really discuss the difficulties of being a hero. Lois, Martha, Swanwick all can have meaningful conversations with Superman. And with an actor like Fishburne he better know. Would be a waste. Need that Morphed, Morpheus knowledge.

Makes him more fitting as an editor for a big paper

Superman the Movie - classic that created a genre and is still beloved 35 years later.

Man of Steel - entertaining blockbuster.

It may be tempting to call one better than the other, but comparing the 2 is pointless as they are basically the same plots (MOS is STM and STM II combined minus a few concepts and characters)

I feel like that's gonna be the legacy of both movies, despite what fans say.

That being said, I feel that no superhero movie, no matter how good, will really SHARE in the legacy of being the first superhero blockbuster.

That's why we are comparing them, they are very similar. That's why we are not comparing Man of Steel with Home Alone.

I think The Dark Knight will be a beloved classic thirty years from now; I don't think Man of Steel will be.

Kinda like how Bride of Frankenstein is remembered by the general public all these years later, when there were so many similar monster movies at the time that aren't.

He's not a policeman or fireman though,so that is irrelevant.

Yeah, a movie with as many emotional jabs as Man of Steel can be summed up as an "entertaining blockbuster". Why? Because the last 30 minutes is heavy on action, even though it still ends on an emotional note?

It may be get stereotyped as that but I think calling the movie that is selling it short. I've said it before, Man of Steel should have been released in November or December...IMO its a couple steps above "entertaining blockbusters". Thats Pacific Rim

A few things that will make Man of Steel memborable years from now

- Excellent Science fiction feel with the technology and mythology
- Excellent costumes will age well
- character study of Clark
- Faora (Antje Traue) will be a memorable villain. "A good death is its own reward" is no kneel before Zod, but its memorable.
- Russel Crowe was awesome and memorable as Jor-El
- The Smallville fight, in terms of power and speed, is unlike any other fight on film
- Great soundtrack. An understatement really
- Killing Zod for obvious reasons. When was the last time a super hero was put in a position like that and had a reaction like that at the end of a movie? Its not often

Do you think that General Stanwick knows? I hadn't really considered that possibility, but it makes sense. It would give him a character arc (he didn't trust Superman at first and handed him over to Zod, now he knows who Superman is and doesn't tell anyone, even his own superiors). Also, quite a few people know who Oliver is on Arrow, and it makes things really fun when he plays off them (Felicity, Diggle, Huntress, etc).

It would depend, does the savee have a history of romantic attraction to said fireman and has the fireman saved the savee 3x before? Also does Mr Fireman look like be should be in a calendar? If so the he will definitely be getting some kissing action.

BtW I still don't buy that Perry knows, if Snyder says so then I'll take his word for it, but in the movie I don't see how he could. This is still Superman and if flirting with Lois and having the physical traits of Superman equals Perry figuring it out, then everyone must know.

Everyone isn't the editor of one of the biggest and most prestigious newspapers on the planet (he's trained to notice these things).

Oh so your premise "People kiss all the time" was irrelevant too. You meant only Superman.

No, I meant physically attractive males that saves a woman multiple times with super powers have a very high probability of kissing said woman. Therefore, it wouldn't be forced.

So are military personnel and cops detectives etc. The General would be able to figure it out even without the drone. And if Perry is made to be so smart he definitely would have figured it out in LnC in the 90's. Lois was give. A good reason for figuring it out, if Perry does know there is no reason other than the writers wanted it that way.

I think I get it: "We won't be writing a proper love story here so call a hot guy for the main role."

For all we know, the general may very well know Clark's secret in the sequel. I actually support that idea as it would give him some more character development and make for some interesting interaction between the two. Also, it is heavily implied in the comics multiple times that Perry secretly knows or suspects that Clark is Superman, but keeps it to himself. Batman even comments in the Hush storyline that it is likely that Perry knows and draws a parallel to Commissioner Gordon, who likely knows he is Bruce Wayne.
