Man raised from dead at my church!

Most shocking thing to me is that Jewish Hobbit isn't... jewish.

Yeah, I have to explain that every couple of years :D

The Jewish part was an inside joke between some friends of mine who swore I looked Jewish... so they always refered to me as their jewish friend. It was never meant to be demeaning or insulting toward me or jewish people so for fun I used it in my user name. These days I wish I hadn't and was just The Hobbit but I've been on here so long it'd be weird to drop it now.

wouldn't that be blasphemous and stuff?

In what way?

There may not be medical fact. But there is zero religious fact. So I usually side with medicine.

If something is proven as a fact to one person but not accepted by someone else... does that make it any less fact? If a large group of people took scientific fact and didn't accept it for reasons other than scientists accept would that then make that not as factual? The point I'm getting at is "fact" can at times be circumstancial depending on what you want to believe or not believe. Your opinion on "zero religious fact" doesn't impact what may or may not be actuality in the slightest.

I'm not really interested in a debate on the matter though. As Spider-Who said, there's a religious debate thread for that. This isn't one of those threads and I won't let it devolve into one because someone feels the need to belittle religion when it isn't necessary.

Personally, I think it started when rodhulk came in here with his "no medical fact" claims, but I agree, let's leave the debates and close-mindedness (on both sides) out of this.

Any more info, JewHob?

It wouldn't be a medical explanation if it didn't involve facts.

I think he's meaning that people can claim that it's medical but you can't always prove it or explain it.

Take me for example. I was blinded in a car accident years ago and after two weeks I was seeing 20/20. My eye doctor flat out told me it had to be my prayers because it was nothing he did. He expected me to either A) never see again or B) see with deficiencies like color blindness or bottle glasses. To see like I did was unexplainable for him.

Other say that there's an obvious medical explanation, not a spirtiual one for how my eyes recovered and even go as far as to say that doctor either A) didn't know what he was doing, or B) let his faith overcome his medical mind... but again... you can't prove that medical claim. Therefore, my eyes healing isn't necessarilly a medical fact because there's no set facts on how it happened or even documented by the professional and those he worked with dealing with it. There is a possibility that it was something other than medical.

Though I could be misreading his quote as well :p

Nah, I'd say it started with whoever it was that claimed it was a classic healing hoax... which is disrespectful to faith healings that happen all over the world. But I'm not too worried about it.

And no, nothing yet. I'm not expecting to get anything else until maybe the weekend when I'll try to get together with Duane for a game of RISK :)

I have no problems with a medical explanation, but that doesn't mean that it was medical and not miracle!

Actually, while it doesn't mean it wasn't a miracle, it does mean that it was medical.

Do you even like comic book movies? I swear I've never seen you post in a thread that wasn't related to religion in some way. Did you get lost on the internets?

Ha! Ha!

I can, however, see how you can say that. Just check my history and the threads I've started. That should answer your question. In fact, just check the (non-superhero but also non-religion) thread I started yesterday!

But true christianity is an important and great thing so I like letting people know this.
