Just a litle of the religious intolerance in my backyard

Or offer any proof of these "polls" besides one's word. For all I know, he/she pulled them out of their ass.

Pick up a newspaper sometime and stop living in your cloud of political correctness. You might actually learn something every now and then. Polls have been taken over the years showing that anywhere from 20 to over 50 percent of muslims in various countries in the middle east support terrorism. Think of how many ppl that is. Are these the few bad apples Kane was talking about? I can't wait to hear your next argument about how muslims in that part of the world don't really hate the jews.
Strange: you replied to me, yet you apparently did not read my post--because you seem to have missed where I said "your statement is worthless without data." Don't waste my time with vague allusions about mystery polls.

Well the anti-mosque protest and the pro-mosque counter demonstration were both on Wednesday. I think it was successful overall for our cause. We reportedly had more numbers in favor of the mosque than there were against the mosque. In fact, the anti-mosque protesters delayed their march to try to get our group to disperse and lessen our numbers.

The most ironic part of the day, was when the leader of the anti-mosque protest stood up at the top of the courthouse steps, with a megaphone - this same man has been claiming that this is not a religious issue, but rather he and his side feel that this was rushed through the county commision too fast (yet has never distanced himself from the anti-Islamic rhetoric used against the mosque) - and standing up there, with anti-Islamic signs all around him, shouted through the megaphone "This is not a religious issue"

The entire pro-mosque group took part in a simultaneous

The good news: It has been reported that the mayor has stated that there are no plans to overturn the decision to allow the mosque.

The bad news: I may have made certain members of my family, who are members of the World Outreach Church that was mentioned in previous articles of being against the mosque, rather upset with my decision to march in support of the mosque.

This stuff completely infuriates me. I thought we were in the year 2010, I thought we as Americans were above all this. Well, I did until I moved to the south, where every knock on Obama has more to do with his name, and "Muslim faith" (in quotations because he's a Christian) than his actual politics. This sickens me, and I'm not even Muslim. What's even worse is that, Allen Jackson, the pastor that is quoted, is the pastor at the church that my brother attends, a church that I've gone to a few times. Not being of the Christian faith myself, I actually kind of liked the church because I felt it wasn't the typical church that came with all the negative stereotypes. But as time went on, I found myself agreeing less and less with his sermons, and now this. I won't be attending this church anymore. I wish I knew about the town hall meeting, if there are any more that ever pop up, I will definitely be there to speak in support of this Mosque.

I will be the first to admit that I understand the fears people have. I have them myself. I admit to feeling a sense of nervousness when I see Muslims on airplanes.

But there is something more important than whatever fear I may feel, and that is the 1st amendment, and people's freedoms. People have the freedom to worship who, and how they please as long as they respect the laws of our nation. This particular mosque has already condemned polygamy, something I guess Islam allows, because it is against our laws. We can't punish an entire group of people just because a few radical extremists taint and twist the faith to condone their evil actions.

I'm against all forms of religion, I'm against all bills of rights, and I'm against the idea of rights.

It's probably best you stay ignorant. I'm not going to waste my time providing proof of something that's already such a well known fact to so many ppl. It's like asking to prove Bin Laden was behind 911. Even if you are not aware of the specific facts, one could easily just reason it out using common sense and what they know of the middle east and how many feel about the use of terrorism over there.

Ah yes: you're either too lazy, too incompetent, or too ignorant to provide data supporting your arguments, and I'm the one with the problem? Yeah, really good feint, there; I'm sure it fooled a lot of people.

^ I got infracted for it. Of course, the fact that I preceded it with ****ing might have affected the ruling.

That's what happened the FIRST time I got an infraction for it...which MAY have been justified. The second time was just ridiculous. It wasn't even meant to be insulting. People are just babies.

Srsly tho, careful with it.

Let's not get my thread closed down due to criticizing of the mods.

This issue is one that's very important to me.
