Mark Millar's Many Thoughts On Superman

Yes :o He always writes like that, he really seems to hate SR haters. :o
Thats sad. Come to think of it, I do remember some of his post's being pretty outrageous...

I don't understand hating SR haters or lovers. The only SR lover that I dislike is The Guard and thats because he talks down to everyone...anywho I'm not going to get into that.

As a hater, If you ask me, the SR fans on a whole seem to be really awesome people. I love disscussing SR and a maybe sequel with you guys. It's most of the Batman fans and the Batman forums that I can't stand.

Remember Superman Prime, it's only a movie, it's only a movie.

I dunno, I guess I'm in the position now where I can understand why some people love the film. However I can also understand the complaints that are out there, some of which are make it or break it complaints that turned some fans off.

I liked SR but did not love it. Honestly to this day I believe if they had done an origin film to start off the franchise things would be better.

It is? :(.

:hehe:.

I kinda agree with this. I would have loved to have seen a new origin film, but then, I'm writing my own, which I hope to submit for serious consideration, so a new origin film, unless it had turned out to be crap, would have ruined my plan.

Back in 2005 I really wanted a reboot ala BB, but could understand why Singer would not want to do an origin film...Based on this I did not expect to love the movie, but I did... :O The most healthy decision would have been to restart the whole thing, back then, I guess. Now, I just want Singer to finish his arc with MOS, and then the eventual reboot after WB makes a couple more DC movies like GL.

Unfortunately for me, that sounds like what they are going to do I Am The Knight.

I understood why he didn't do an origin film. It almost seemed redundant with Smallville on the air. Still, I just can see more of Singerman's Superman. He took away some very vital character elements then he had Lex whoop on him and Richard steal his child and girl:huh: I don't ever want to see that arc finished.

To quote a prolific poster at the JL boards:

"No one knows what's really going on with this film. We'll just have to wait and see."

I don't see what's actually wrong in having the villiain beating the hero before the hero triumphs. That's what always happen. We had Superman being beaten in SII for example.

Now, Richard didn't steal a thing here. Superman felt that his commitment top his original race was more important so he left Lois alone. It's the consequence of his decision. Richard didn't come in to steal her.

We disagree...and will never agree. I hope you get your Superman movie and I hope I get mine.

I hope we can agree in what stealing a girl is.

Nope, because the Superman I know wouldn't have abandoned Earth for five years. So, he would have never left the girl, and I can't even go there with the mind-rape...so again...we don't agree. Sorry:oldrazz:

If by mind-rape you mean the end of SII, we very much agree. That, I think, was absolutely un-Superman.

I think that if he could abandon his mission forever he very much could have abandoned Earth for 5 years if that emant to try and find survivors of his original race. Still, given the circunstances Lois freely chose Richard. That's why I said it was him stealing her.

Uh ... I don't think you're both gonna get what you want.

How did Richard "steal" Lois from Superman? That doesn't make any sense to me.

Well...one of us will get something, right?:word:

Anyway, as for the stealing, it's more in the way Singer interpreted the scenario, which I think is all wrong. Personally, Singer is the one who robbed Superman. He and his writers robbed him of his girl just before they took his manhood...figuratively speaking.

So, the stealing is not deliberate on Richard's part. I hope that clarifiies things.

No! It never will, we'll never aghree on anything. ;) stealing your act a little.

It makes clear what did you mean but Richard never stole her. I think you just hate Lois being with him instead of Supes.

That is part of it. I think Supes and Lois are golden. They should always be together like some think Lex should always be villian in a live action portrayal. Still, I might have been able to forgive Singer if Supes actions were relatable. They weren't and Singer refused to explain himself. He just took what he wanted from Donner and tried to package it as Superman.
