MARVEL getting it right

First we get Robert Downey Jr cast as Iron Man along with Terrance Howard to co-star and now we get the news of Edward Nortan playing Bruce Banner.

This is exactly what Marvel should be doing in order to improve on their films and for the general public along with critics to take the films seriously. I hope they keep up with this trend being that Captain America Thor and Namor are up next.

I wonder how much Kevin Feige has to do with this compared to Avi Arad.

For some reason now I see them casting Tyler Durden, or Brad Pitt (If that's his reeeal name >_>) as a Thor or Cap. America....probably Cap. And heck, I could even seen Ryan Reynolds as DeadPool.

Yeah, on paper Brad Pitt would be Captain America. But realistically, I can't see him pulling it off properly.

brad pitt is 43, so by the time they cast him and start to movie (lets say today) it could be 2 years or so making him about 45, 46, and when you take into consideration that the movie hasn't got a script, director, or a start date, and the fact that they will want at least a 3 picture deal brad will be too old to be cap. then you have to recast for the second movie (unless they film 1 and 2 back to back, but that doesn't facter in the 3rd movie) and by the time you do make the second movie it will have been about 3 years (give or take) and by then he will be about 48, 49.

and the fact that its BRAD ****ING PITT!!!! i want to see cap on screen not Brad Pitt as cap.

I like Jensen Ackles. I don't know if I want him for Captain America, but there are worse choices. Technically, Ackles has already played a super soldier in the Captain America vein when he was on Dark Angel.

I think John Cena would make a decent Cap.​

but how come no one can cast a good actress? i cant think of a superhero movie that did a female character justice. MJ? no, Storm? no, Lois Lane? no, Rogue? no, Roxanne? no, Rachel Dawes? no(but that might be just cuz i hate katie holmes...actually come to think of it i dont like any of these actresses, Halle Berry is good to look at and thats it) Sue Storm? no, Elektra? no

i really hope they can do these characters justice at some point. Jean Grey was pretty good, but even still she didnt really do anything til X3 and that movie sucked

What marvel should do is hire big name directors like James Cameron and how about Steven Spielberg directing a big budget superhero movie?
Also I think Marvel should slow down and make fewer movies with more effort and time put int them so we don't get stuff like X-men 3, Elektra and Ghost Rider.
I think Marvel needs to learn a few things from DC. You don't see them cranking out movies every five minutes.

actually what marvel needs to do is go after some of there less popular properties.. very similar to what DC did with constantine and V for Vendetta.

if was head of marvels film slates, i'd be pushing for..

Runaways- (kids will love it, and it has very much the potential to be this generations "goonies", it also is one of the few properties that can co exist without other marvel back stories)

the bugle (tv show)- have it be a drama about the reporters at the daily bugle, and what there lives are like in a world full of superheroes. With the success of Generation M and Frontline, i think this is very inventive and original. I'd have the shows main cast be J. Jonah Jameson, Betty Brant, Robbie Robertson, Sally Floyd, Kat Farrel, Ben Urich, and Jessica Jones.

there be no focus on the superheroes.. but they would have cameos.. and many illusions, like i'd hate for peter to actually be a cast member, but i think it'd be cool for a scene for instance where sally is asking betty who jameson is yelling at... and she'd say "o peter was late with the photos again" stuff like that, though the super heroes would appear, they'd have to for the stories

by "this" you're referring to the casting? a good cast alone doesn't guarantee an enjoyable film.
