Sometimes I do. Right now:
Director: Roland Emmerich (White House Down, Independence Day, 2012)
Carol Danvers: Charlize Theron or Emily Blunt
Mar-Vell: Matt Damon, you want someone big to make the deconstruction sing, like Pitt in MegaMind
Michael "Ace" Rossi - Sam Worthington
Abigail Brand: Amy Acker
Nick Fury: Samuel L. Jackson
Maria Hill: Cobie Smulders
Yon-Rogg: Phillip Seymour Hoffman
Ronan the Accuser: Kevin Grievoux
Sentry 459: (voice) Dee Bradley Baker

Cool! I'll have a go too!

Director: Rian Johnson (Looper, Brick)
Carol Danvers: Jessica Chastain

Mar-Vell: Paul Walker

Abigail Brand: Sigourney Weaver (I think Brand should be a bit older, closer to SLJ's age)

Nick Fury: Samuel L. Jackson

I'd actually like to see Chastain do She-Hulk or Spider-Woman.

Yes, I know what I said. :o

If they do a solo female film (can't believe I'm saying "if") it has to pass the film test (forgot the name) that judges if it is proportionate in representing women. It just has to:
A) Have more than 1 female character.
B)Have them talk to each other.
C) Talk to each other about something other than a man.

Female-led action movies are rare enough. I'd be a little more forgiving for one than the Bechdel Test strictly states. I certainly expect more than one female cast member, but as long as the hero of the movie gets to actually be the hero, with all due and proper agency? I don't care so much about who exactly talks with who about what.

Remember, the Bechdel Test is a guideline, not a straitjacket. In particular, a conversation "about a man" can be entirely non-problematic, and a conversation "not about a man" can be direly sexist. It deals in trends rather than absolutes, and if you are already averting the trends by having a female lead. . .

I think it's the fact that the majority of movies can have men talking about men but it isn't so common for the opposite.

I just realized that Elektra is still the only female character of Marvel that got a solo movie. I wonder what would have happened if FOX gave a Storm/Invisible Woman a spin-off movie too.

Nah man, Jennifer Carpenter for She Hulk (I'm still hoping for a series) and maybe Andrea Riseborough as Spider-woman (or Arachne, as I imagine she would be called)

If Jessica were called Arachne (which I believe was her original codename under Hydra anyway), that could just be the name of the movie/ show if they wanted to distinguish it from Spider-Man. But I can't see that the public within the MCU wouldn't want to nickname her Spider-Woman anyway. People tend to do that when you share a similarity with someone else.

The public or the press wouldn't come up with Arachne, just like they didn't come up with Titanium-based-alloy man but "Iron Man" whether it was accurate or not, because it's catchier. So Spider-Woman could still be an in joke or nickname that Jessica has, even though she might formally be known as Arachne. After all, Green Arrow is known as "The Hood" in Arrow.

There are many great female characters in the Marvel Universe that deserve solo films, but none more so than Squirrel Girl. With a threat like Thanos around it's obvious that the MCU needs a true hero that can match his might.

How about Monica Rambeau - Pulsar/Photon
Photon_002.jpg

I prefer her in her original Captain Marvel costume (she should never have had that name), rather than those costumes with the jackets or long coats.

Yeah i'm not a fan of the long coats either.

I don't mind the trench coat to be honest. I'm sure the actress would much prefer it!

Jasika Nicole (Fringe) might be a good choice for Photon. I would want Carol Danvers to appear first though (just because she's the one I think of when I think Captain Marvel (besides Mar-vell and he's boring)

Monica Rambeau can appear first. She just doesn't ever have to be called Captain Marvel but Photon. I never liked her with that name.

Agreed. Photon or Pulsar would work for me.
She should have never been called Cpt Marvel.

I'll be honest, right now the only two that would probably get greenlit because they'd make some actual money are She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel.

I'm definitely all for the three mentioned. Would love to see a Spider-Woman film above all! Wonder if they'll eventually introduce S.W.O.R.D. in the future especially with Abigail Brand and Carol Danvers' involvement. She-Hulk too would be great.

This.

Add in Black Widow (but only if you capitalize on it while you still have Scar Jo playing her) and Spider-Woman?

You've probably got the only ones that have any sort of chance in hell at having a successful solo film. Most of the others should be strong supporting characters at best.
