I saw an ad in a free marvel primer this summer. A big page with the Amazing Fantasy 15 front page, and a text saying: Marvel Masterworks tpb January 2009 or something like that. Now I've been searching the Web like a mad man (Can't get too much classic Spidey). But I can't find a single note about this...Am I going crazy?

^^ No, you're not going crazy, lol. I saw that ad as well and I'm very excited about it, but I also don't know much about it either.

:yay:

^^ I'm still a bit confused. Is it all Spidey issues, or are they talking about Marvel charatcers in general?

It's part of the celebration of Marvel's 70th Birthday next year.

Some info can be found here

Another major initiative for the House of Ideas comes in the trade department. For years the company has been releasing "Marvel Masterworks" hardcovers, collecting some of the publisher's oldest books, including issues as far back as 1939. Now those hardcovers will be reprinted as softcovers, lowering the price point and allowing new fans to enjoy some of the classics.

^^ Awesome info! I'll be sure to get the soft covers. I love collecting Spidey/Marvel stuff, lol. Even though I've read a ton of Spidey issues, it's still good to go back and re-read them. IMO, no matter how time you read them, they never get old.

Why rebuy essentially what you already have then?

lol you do realize those comics you already have are re-readable, right? haha

Don't need to rebuy them to enjoy them again. :p

Well, I have the Omnibus, so I'm covered, for now...and I also have the first 5 or 6 volumes of the Essentials (still haven't read the last two, no time). So, I'm good.

Still, it's awesome that they are doing this. It's been a long time a-coming, honestly. The Essentials are great, but most people want to read the books as they originally appeared: In color! Now they can.

I have the omnibus put out last year - But if they start giving me Romita issues in color - :yay::yay:

I may get flamed for this but Essential Amazing 8 is NOT very good.

Since I'll be getting the Omnibus I won't be getting that particular trade but I'll buy a Marvel Masterworks trade of something like Thor or Ant-Man so I don't have to snatch up an HC of it.

I'm hoping they do another omnibus collecting the Lee/Romita issues! That would be awesome!!

That's interesting. I might get them when they're out
