Marvel Now

I figured "Legacy" was a teaser for a Young Avengers-type book, since Wiccan and "Kid Loki" were in that Marvel Now teaser. Maybe it will be a new team of young "heroes."

The fact that they used the word Legacy automatically tells me that this is an X-Men related book, not an Avengers one.

But really, none of the other recent teasers were connected to that other one with the character files and Fury Jr., so I'd doubt it. All these teasers are for recently ended titles.

I think you are looking at the word "Legacy" as a title instead of a word to describe all the other new books like the others have. Legacy could be anything...it could be the Winter Soldier book

You also have to look at the color of the letters too. All the other teasers, the color is also a prevailing color associated with the character in some way. What other character would yellow, or possibly gold, be associated with? As Newsarama put it, the yellow brings to mind the classic yellow suits that the New Mutants wear.

I'd buy that argument if Marvel didn't actually have a book called X-Men Legacy (which is coincidentally their longest running title without a renumbering).

but look at the teasers for FF and Hulk...they went out of their way to not use adjectives not in the titles...."Family" and "Indestructible" as opposed to "Fantastic" and "Incredible". I could be wrong but it doesn't seem that they would tease a series with the title in the tease.

They did do "Invincible," though, so who knows? I am sticking with my young Avengers/heroes book idea.

So any word on what Brubaker is going to be working on? Seems like a lot of the larger titles are already taken :csad:

Yeah, from what I heard he was going back to creator owned work with the exception of Winter Soldier.

Brubaker is doing creator owned stuff now. It's more of his taste and he makes more money this way.

He definitely seemed burned out on superhero stuff. His Captain America arcs are like paint-by-numbers do-overs of the Winter Soldier stuff at this point with Bravo in place of the Red Skull and a never-ending cavalcade of random other faces from Steve's past in place of Bucky's.

He made it clear in an interview once that before he ended his run, he wanted to touch on every era or Cap prior to his. That's why we've seen the non stop stream of former Cap characters like Bernie Rosenthal, Diamondback, D-Man ect...

Not as good as they once were, no. The first arc with Bravo was awful, the rest since then were decent. Compared to the rest of Bru's run, they've been mediocre.

That's nice. It still hasn't really made for good stories, though.
There's been a lot more misses with the recent run of Cap since they seem sort of derivative of other Cap stories. There's really been nothing there that adds anything new or exciting to Cap's story. I'll finish up with Brubaker's run since it's so close to ending. With Remender coming on board, I may give it a full story arc before deciding whether to keep up with it.

Yeah, Brubaker's Cap run had run its course a while ago, so I would have been excited to see him take on a different character.

Still, I'm fine if it means he's going to do more of his own stuff. More Criminal and Fatale is all good in my book :)

The only reason I read Cap was because of Brubaker, so I'm taking this Marvel Now relaunch as an opprtunity to cut back on stuff. I haven't followed the careers of these other guys as much as I have Brubaker (well, and Bendis), so it's easy to step out.

I have to decide on FF, a book I've been reading for a good while now. I don't know how I feel about Fraction on it, and the fact that theyre keeping two books going (both likely 3.99).

Brukbaker's recent Cap has been good like Real Steel and Fast Five were good; total trashy, but some fun storylines, and a slick looking presentation keeps you hanging around.

All in all, it's good he's moving on. And Rememder should deliver stories that are almost as good as Brubaker's original run.

Yeah, they weren't really bad, per se. Just disappointingly bland. I swear, the Scourge arc literally felt like a condensed version of exactly what Brubaker did with Bucky as the Winter Soldier, only with D-Man as Scourge swapped in.

And Cap really had only one major fight with him that ended way too quickly. Just thought that Brubaker mailed it in with Scourge/D-Man.

Seeing as money might be a little tight this upcoming semester, I might drop Cap after Brubaker is done.I love Rememder and Romita, but I really need to cut back.
