Born Again Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again General Discussion Thread

Charlie Cox, while on stage with Elden Henson, says he doesn't know what will happen with the characters of Foggy and Karen in Born Again but he considers those actors were "the heartbeat of what we did before and the show is a success because of them".

Sandrine Holt looks more like a classic Elektra.

with the new Disney CEO, i am worried that the action scenes are going to be watered down or downscaled, since I heard that the new Disney CEO doesn't like intense action scenes

Maybe he’s developed a sudden fear of them, had a bad nightmare of Kingpin slamming his head with a car door. :D

That's why he left Disney before to get his head treated.

The biggest thing that I thought was so amazing about the fight scenes on Netflix were showing how much effort it took on Matt's part. He wasn't One-Punching dudes and moving on. He's not super strong so he needs to actually beat the piss out of people to keep them down. His exhaustion in the hallway fight was what made it so visceral. So as long as we get that, I don't need a ton of blood or people getting noisily beheaded in car doors.

Kingpin does need to do some f***ed up s**t though to show his instability. Have him put Foggy and Karen in a car crusher or something lol

Kingpin wasn't one-punching dudes and then moving on either. He wouldn't stop with just one punch. :o

I'm starting to fear the worst... I don't think Henson and Woll are returning. If so, that's gonna deflate my excitement for this show, majorly.

I'm sorry, I'm in the minority, but I could do without Foggy for a season. Sometimes he got on my damn nerves.

Yeah, it was a pleasant surprise that we even got Cox and D'onofrio back for the MCU, as long as we got them I'm good

Anything else (Dawson, Bernthal, Yung, Bethel etc) is just icing

Do yout think Sandrine or Margarita will play the new Elektra? I think both could play her, but I think Margarita just screams Elektra. She looks exotic and has fighting background.

I’ll be a little bummed if they don’t bring Elodie Yung back, but Sandrine Holt has the same general look, so I can picture her taking over as Elektra.

The first season of Andor really hyped me for Born Again. When they put their minds to it & put together the right talent, Disney+ can produce some really quality “adult” content.

Bring back all the actors. Foggy and Karen can take a backseat but the actors were good in the roles. And there’s plenty to explore in Daredevil’s corner of the MCU before immediately returning to Elektra and Punisher, although I’d like to see Bethel return as a fully-realized Bullseye.

MCU could really elevate The Hand from the Netflix series; it’d be a shame to lose Elodie Yung.

I don't want to revisit The Hand because they couldn't do it that plot competently and it was an absolute mess in the Defenders. Not sure what you could do with them again. Plus all their leaders are dead, and the Chaste are all but gone.

I do think they need to revamp Bullseye, but I would definitely recast Wilson Bethel. No offense to the actor, but the S3 iteration of Bullseye was awful.

They aren't going to recast Elektra with Sandrine Holt. Why would they even do that? Also, she's 10 years older than Elodie Yung. If they were to recast Elektra with an older actor, it wouldn't be Sandrine Holt.

I’m honestly not even familiar with her and didn’t realize she was that much older. She looks pretty young. I don’t know why they would recast her and don’t think they should, but we don’t really know anything about what they’re doing with this show. She’s just mentioned as a potential love interest, so I made an observation. It’s just some light, pointless speculation on my end.

This is gonna be TV-14, isn’t it? If this is the case, just further proof that Marvel doesn’t seem to want to truly expand as long as they can sell toys and video games.

There was a general idea that Marvel would try to expand their content for more mature audiences in an effort to add some variety to the MCU—especially with the likes of Deadpool coming in a couple years. This also seemed like a strong possibility given they made all the Netflix shows available on Disney+ which retained their original TV-MA rating.

They already have tons of content for mature audiences. Its called "the entirety of their library, seeing as their is absolutely nothing forcing a person to only watch stuff with an MA-17 rating." *cough*
