Nice to see the grounded fights are back.
First thing Disney did with this character, was turn DD into an outrageous CG generated fighting caricature in SHulk
and then clowned Kingpin where he was written as a dismissive joke in Hawkeye and Echo.
So my expectations were low.
Though hopefully it looks like they are back to form here?

It's hard to tell, but it would be Nice if the different helmets had slight design/function changes, other than just being a different color.

Not sure where they've taken him in the comics, yet as far as I know, he's not really a gadget/tech guy.
Besides his "radar", he sticks to pretty much basics; his billy-clubs, and fists.

Name only. Season 3 of the previous show was basically an adaptation of Born Again.

Loved the trailer. I love that this pretty much reaffirms that this is essentially Daredevil season 4. The confrontation between Matt and Fisk looked TENSE. Cox and D'Onofrio look back in full form. I wanna see KINGPIN back, not the clown we saw in Echo.

I am trying really hard to forget how they massacred his character in Hawkeye & Echo

I get the reason, now that Daredevil is effectively part of this larger world, but I also hope it stays largely self-contained. Would it be nice to see other characters from the greater MCU, major or minor, pop up? Sure, but I'd prefer that this just tell its story and not be concerned with what else is happening in the universe, much like the other Netflix shows did. Hopefully he just means someone like good old Turk Barrett.

Much further than the violence of the Netflix series? Within the confines of Disney Plus? I don't completely doubt it, but I'll believe it when I see it. Fisk decapitating Anatoly's head with that car door is still pretty brutal, probably one of the most brutal things we got from the show.

I agree on the fights, but I do hope they keep a little bit of the acrobatic flair they gave DD in She-Hulk.
The CG wasn't perfect, but it was great seeing him do some traversal he was never able to pull off in the Netflix series

And I didn't find Kingpin to be a joke in those series
Didn't love his story resolution in Echo, especially since they seemed to not really commit to it

My biggest issue was having him do ASL in Hawkeye, and then not knowing it in ECHO, lol

But I still found him to be mostly intimidating, while waiting for his next star turn in DD

The Daredevil Netflix series is still my favorite thing to come out of the MCU so I'm super stoked for this. The trailer looked awesome.

From what I’ve been able to actually see, this looks really good. But Marvel cuts a good trailer, so I remain cautiously optimistic. And I don’t buy that this is more violent than the Netflix series— not that I need it to, by the way. That series was plenty graphic; we certainly don’t need to go further. I think that was just D’Onorfrio being excited in an interview.

It’s so good seeing all the OG cast back together by the way (though I’m still holding out hope we’ll get to see Elodie Yung as Elektra and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple in S2). It’d be great to have Mike Coulter back too; I thought he was perfectly cast as Luke Cage.

Definitely interested in the new characters; the Netflix series, IMO, always did a good job introducing stand-out villains season to season so hopefully this sequel series delivers too.

My hope is that the course correction will make this closer to the Netflix style, but I also hope Born Again embraces more comic book aspects and villains that the Netflix shows often weren't willing to do.

Also, the Netflix series was TV-MA. Born Again should be the same.

If Disney seriously wants Disney+ to compete with Prime Video and Netflix, you can't limit yourself to kids and family content only. You need to have R-Rated and TV-MA content. And considering they've allowed that content already on the platform, nothing should be stopping them.
