Born Again Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again General Discussion Thread

I'd rather he do what's healthiest for him especially at 65 years old. But someone asks why he looks not as big and it looks like I was correct. It doesn't look like the technology has improved that much because he still physically looks smaller.
It's probably less that he looks smaller and more that it looks actually realistic. Who knows what it looked like ten years ago. Him looking larger wouldn't have mattered if it made him look like the Michelin Man

I mean it looked realistic 10 years ago too, lol.

What's with the tiger roar at 1:50?

Does it have something to do with White Tiger or is it just a random sound they decided to use?

This obviously looked like it had five times the budget, than the Netflix series. Its still giving "tv" for me especially after seeing the other Disney+ shows which looked more cinematic/movie like.

I'm interested to see the long term plan for this. I still believe a real upgrade from the Netflix tv series era, would have been a movie exclusive in cinemas for 2 months that could attract more newer audience. I'm not sure for those who didn't bother to watch Daredevil when it was brand new on Netflix would give this a chance, now its on a different platform. Its technically a different show with a different title, but its featuring the same key cast which makes it a season 4 of the old show.

I dunno. Sometimes you can see the limits of Disney+ production values. Moon Knight never looked that good to me. I'd say this looks pretty similar to the Netflix show, which didn't exactly have cinematic level production values either. You'd see Daredevil do like maybe one impressive stunt a season because they didn't have a CG effects budget.

Season 2 you do see Daredevil do a Big Swing moment and it's really cool but it only happens once. I hated the one take fight sequence in Season 3 because it just goes on too long, it's way too brightly lit, and it's just Matt in his civilian clothes. I also just found the prison setting rather absurd.

Also after the first season after they narratively establish his radar sense, we never see Radar Sense Vision again, which I never understood. We should see Radar Sense make a return in Born Again. And we should see Daredevil doing more fantastic feats and swinging through the air.

In the comics and animation, Daredevil is the Man Without Fear. He can do things that normal humans can't. His enhanced senses give him abilities and allow him to do feats that regular people cannot. He should be able to jump off of buildings and swing around. The comics always give the sense that Daredevil can run across and swing from buildings with ease because his radar sense and enhanced senses basically make it easy for him, almost like a cheat code.

I want to see Daredevil moving like this and swinging from buildings in a live-action TV series.

That is craaaazy to me lol. That was my favorite one. The tension in all that and then how it all blends into the rioting etc... it was like a short film at that point. I don't even know how they could top it.

I think they easily topped it in Season 2, lol.

The most well executed one take is probably still Season 1, imho. Season 3 meanwhile is a magnum opus from a purely technical standpoint, albeit with not as compelling execution

Been rewatching Season 1 and I had forgotten how great some supporting characters like Urich, Owlsley and Wesley are. Hopefully Born Again can deliver on that front too.

I never liked what happened to Urich in Season 1. Felt like it was done merely for shock value. Also, I think he only met Matt once.

I'm sorry

Rated 18+???????????

This show's gonna be COOKING

I mean, it and the other Netflix shows were rated TV-MA, and there's no reason to believe that this would have been watered down. Is this surprising?
This is UK age ratings. Daredevil Season 1 was rated 15 and only got bumped up to 18 because of Punisher in Season 2

It's a good sign, is all

Or a sign they added a ton of CG blood in order to get such a rating.

I'm glad they are sticking with the show's TV-MA roots. It allowed Daredevil to do something different than typical MCU fare.

It's one reason Moon Knight was such a disappointment.

Possibly, but it also means there's a chance they'll do the darker tone of Netflix Daredevil justice. There'd be far less of a chance of that if it was PG-13

Good to know I don't need to check this show out.

.
Well, If you want to swipe tone and character narratives for Kingpin, there you go.
"It has elements of The Sopranos and King Of New York. There's a feeling for those classic '90s crime tales.”

Snyder also cites a ton of influences he doesn't understand. And honestly, his comments about being "forced" to follow the format that was standard at the time for an hour long drama, I think you should not be expecting episodes to go more than 30 minutes.
