I wonder if he's talking about the main heroes(Punisher, Jessica Jones) or some of the side characters that we've seen?

"I'm very giddy about it and very excited. I'm counting the days till we start and I'm honored to be a part of it. We get to shoot in New York. People are gonna be really happy to see these characters that we previously saw in the Netflix series like in the MCU."

To me, he's just referring to Matt and Fisk. I don't see this as a tease of more returning characters. Maybe I'm wrong though.

I don't see why it's weird. There's plenty to Matt and Fisk's lives that may be relevant and we haven't seen yet, plus this show will seemingly introduce a bunch of new supporting cast members, some of whom might have a relevant past as well. We have no idea what these flashbacks will entail.

I'm interested to see if Matt and/or Fisk were blipped? I feel like Matt could've been blipped and that's what allowed Fisk to gain more power over 5 years. Nobody to really take him down.

Another thing I got thinking of, is if the Netflix show is canon, maybe Fisk kidnapped Foggy and Karen during the blip hoping to draw out DareDevil, but couldn't because he was gone. Maybe a plot during the show is Matt trying to find them?

I do like the idea of a blip being incorporated into the show, tying it into the proper universe.

I was going to make a snarky remark about that only mattering if Marvel actually shot this in New York instead of Georgia like for everything else. Then I scrolled up and the very surprising reports that they are actually shooting on location in New York.

I wasn't even thinking it myself until I saw "New York" courthouse. Of course it's possible they got all the outside shots they wanted and filmed the inside stuff elsewhere.

People in the comments of that tweet pointed out that the Google Street View of that building/sign shows it saying the same thing; long before filming started. So I don't think it has anything to do with when the show takes place.

I don't think this show takes place during the blip, but anything is possible. They could have scouted locations during pre-production and found this to use to their advantage. I think the give away of this not taking place during the blip was the fact that 5 years after Thanos' snap, Manhattan looked like a graveyard.

Maybe that means Karen And Foggy can return, in future seasons if not halfway through this one. Also a good reason for keeping quiet on the matter. But then they also recast Vanessa so who knows.

We shouldn't jump to conclusions based on set photos alone. There could be an episode or flashback set in 2020 but it might not be the whole season.
