What is upsetting is that, at one time, EL May was really good at what he did. And now he's in the aging rocker mode.

Is he seriously taking credit for breaking a scoop that every single one of us knew was going to happen anyway?I don't have a big problem with El May but man, that is the obvious damn thing in the world to break.
Exactly. It baffles me when people say "this is good for Marvel as they have nothing to lose and it will stop people from taking their release dates again". Both movies will hurt each other but BvS is likely to make more money and there will be many articles talking about it. That would not be a good look for Marvel/Disney at all.
Absolutely. Both sides are foolish if they don't see the inherent danger in this scenario.
I want them to release Amazing Spider-man 4 and X-Men: Apocalypse on the same day as BvS and CA3 so we can finally get a Hunger Games style box office battle. It will be a day that will live in comic book nerd infamy.
And would singlehandedly kill the comic book film.
Sometimes building a better world means tearing the old ones down.
Hmm... with the recent news about Snyder officially committing to JL, I wonder if that'll sway the odds in WB's favor on keeping the May 2016 slot?
One thing's for sure, with the announcement of Justice League for 2018 and the probability of Avengers 3 hitting in 2018, the Marvel/DC showdown definitely will not stop at Cap 3 vs. Batman/Superman.
Actually, JLA is in 2017.
However, it is in the May 5th, 2017 slot. So yeah, same situation 2 years in a row.
The JLA movie just sounds awful. I mean great! Who needs time to develop an emotional connection to the characters when you can jam them all into a movie right away!
So no movie can develop an emotional connection to its characters within its 2.5 hour timeframe without being preceded by four films first? Someone should tell that to the hundreds of movies that have done just that over the course of Hollywood's history. It starts with competent screenwriting, and ends with directing and acting. The JLA movie just sounds awful. I mean great! Yes but this is obvious. Both of them have the most clout with their product that combines their biggest heroes and no solo film by either will compete against either of those two.Marvel has no leg to stand on going up against those slated films. What MCU properties could honestly go in 2016 and 2017 that take precedence over a WF and JL film?
Cap 3 won't have the same intrigue that Batfleck would bring to audiences. You are talking about matching up the two most iconic superheroes of all time. Marvel simply doesn't have the brand name character that's ready to challenge that film in 2016.
2017 is no different. Dr Strange? Maybe another Hulk film? All Marvel can hope for is another B&R situation at WB/DC. Only an Avenger ensemble would have the brand recognition that would make WB think twice.
I agree, but do you think Snyder is the director to balance these characters properly? See, Marvel comes out and does its thing, and suddenly people act like ensemble films, emotional connections, and character development are impossible to achieve without doing it "the Marvel way." It's remarkably frustrating.
I'm interested to see what he can do with Affleck and Terrio's involvement. We will just have to leave it at that for now.I agree, but do you think Snyder is the director to balance these characters properly? Honest question![]()
After doing some research, it's actually inconclusive at this point. Some articles say it could bow in 2017, others say we won't see it before 2018. Nothing's set in stone.
