First on DLC. All I can say is the decision to take it down was out of our hands. Not the choice I would have made, but my influence only goes so far, and believe me I tried
However, since we knew this MIGHT happen, we tried to make it really clear in initial press releases on DLC that this was a limited time offer. See these links below. I thought that same message would have been clear to the VIP community - our bad if you felt like it got pulled without warning. I was on vacation at the time otherwise I would have warned you. :-( I actually assumed this would be covered while I was gone.
Some of the initial news on DLC are at the links below, and the limited time 12/31/09 date was communicated in these. If we were successful appealing to keep the DLC up longer, there would have been a new press release to communicate the extended term. We appealed, we got denied. we even appealed again pointing to all the consumer complaints, and got denied again. So that was that.

So, we have to move on. We are trying to figure out ways to bring the content back - maybe in a limited edition for VIPs? - but there are a lot of things in play so while we are trying our best, there are no guarantees. I will say this - we hear you, I prefer that the DLC content be available too, and we are trying to find a way. Stay tuned! If I get any good news on this, I will share in this thread!
