The Defenders Marvel Working With Netflix and ABC on Additional Series.

Although I'd like to see Ghost Rider again, I don't think there would be the budget to do him justice in a TV series. He would end up being used very sparing if they did do him.

I would've liked a Spider-Woman TV series though. It could've been very much like Angel, which was set in LA, was dark and supernatural and had detective elements. That was how the early Spider-Woman issues were. They could throw in some spy stuff, but there's already enough of that in Agents of SHIELD.

Spider-Woman could easily cross over with Blade or even Morbius. They could introduce Werewolf by Night on the show, as well as the Night Shift (many of the villains from that team are Spider-Woman villains). We could also see the Shroud and Tigra (more supporting characters from Jessica's book).

Spider-Woman has some great villains and supporting cast:

1. Morgan Le Fay
2. Gypsy Moth
3. Werewolf by Night
4. Brothers Grimm
5. The Needle
6. The Hangman
7. Nekra
8. The Shroud
9. Tigra
10. Viper
11. The Enforcer
12. Tick Tock
13. Locksmith
14. Flying Tiger

And we've already seen Angar the Screamer on Agents of SHIELD

She's probably my favorite Marvel heroine. Loved the mood of her stories. Dark, sexy, and just total pulp fun. She does indeed have an interesting roster of rogues from the comics. I'm very baffled as to why they didn't use any of those for the 1979 animated series(they did use the "Wolf-Man" who looked very much like Werewolf By Night). Anyway, she'd be perfect to join other of her Marvel-Bronze Age contemporaries like Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Tigra, Moon Knight, Blade, The Punisher, Ghost Rider and Morbius.

Spider-Woman's animated series had such a different tone to the comics. They tried to make her much lighter, with elements of both Spider-Man and Wonder Woman (she had this little spin to change costume as well). Her comic would've been way too dark and sexy to adapt for a cartoon.

And she was my favourite Marvel heroine as well. I wish Marvel reprinted the Essential Spider-Woman trade paperback in full colour so that I could have all her issues in one volume to read instead of all the individual issues.

Yeah, they certainly took strong liberties. I still thought the show, for its time, had some nice "eerie" moments. Episodes like "Pyramids of Terror", "Realm of Darkness", "Dracula's Revenge", "The Spider-Woman and The Fly", and "The Great Magini" had some nice moody scenes, helped a great deal by the Hammer Films-type music.

I'd love a full-color of the collected series! Maybe for a Marvel's Epic Collection series.

I feel like Morbius should just be a Blade supporting character.

Also, I'd be upset if Blade didn't get a TV show. The Tomb of Dracula comics alternated between multiple protagonists and a rebooted Blade should do the same. The only downside is that Marvel cast every name which comes to mind for Blade as somebody else in the Marvel U already.

What I want is a British Blade, an older Deacon Frost, a more comic accurate Dracula, Hannibal King to still be a vampire. Blade to be a human vampire hunter before becoming the daywalker and new villains like Doctor Sun and Lucas Cross to show up. Marvel can't do better than the first two Blade films so they should do different and make it closer to the comics.

Hmm. Well, I feel like Morbius could have potential for a solo project with a compelling sympathetic-monster story in the vein of Darkman and The Fly(1986).

Moon Knight is a must. I will wait forever if I have to.

I'm kind of eh on Blade. I know that would change down the line but right now I have trouble imagining something different from the Snipes movies. I'll support anything with a proper Dracula though.

I agree that Ghost Rider is best saved for film and hopefully we'll see one some day.

What about an Elektra series? Something where season 1 would show a world where members of The Hand are now in control of the world and Elektra has to fight SHIELD to stop them, culminating in a season finale where she assassinates the newly elected President of the United States, Ken Wind? And yes, I am a fan of Elektra: Assassin. I'm a fan of Frank Miller in general.

I'm not much of an Elektra fan outside of Daredevil but let's face it, Marvel has a firm enough grip on my cojones at this point that I'd watch a US1 show if thery put it out. Also lots of ninjas would be a definite bonus.

A Moon Knight adaption would be amazing. It also wouldn't surprise me if that was the start of the "phase 2" of the netflix, if one were to happen.

I would love to see Moon Knight done....but that would be incredibly hard. He's such an odd character.

This would be amazing! Give us Chastity McBryde too and I'll be a happy man.

...and I think this could be something that is beneficial to the character in making him standout in a medium that is getting more and more lined up with costumed vigilantes. MK has several aspects such as being the avatar of Khonshu, werewolf hunter, the diverse personas of Marc Spector, Steven Grant, Jake Lockley and the more recent Mr. Knight, the drive of cutting off villains' faces, hallucinating images of Khonshu and Bushman, becoming a tv producer, etc., all of which can serve to keep a series going.

Yep. Moon Knight would be a spiritual successor to Twin Peaks and that's why it would be so special. It would go down as the absolute most bizarre property Marvel has ever developed, even more so than Doctor Strange since we at least know that all the bizarre stuff which happens to Strange is actually happening. With Moon Knight, the unreliable narrator would lead to all sorts of plot twists and retcons.

The hard part would be to find an actor able to play the different personas and being able to seed enough hints throughout a season that the season finale actually makes sense (or as much sense as a series where the POV character has schizophrenia can possibly make). Retconning major events like character deaths, only to have that resurrection just be a hallucination and certain characters not even existing is going to be a hard sell, as will the never ending question of whether or not Marc Spector is actually a champion of Khonshu or if he doesn't actually have superpowers but just thinks he does.

Being able to answer MOST of the questions the audience has about what actually happened at the end of each season is a must but if done well, it'll go down as Marvel Studios magnum opus.

Well, I mean, look at Hannibal. Look at how brilliantly they handle alot of the "weird" stuff you mention in that show. The reason that series is getting cancelled is because they really picked the wrong network for it. Moon Knight would already have the advantage that Netflix(where Hannibal should have been)offers over regular tv.

As for the actor, the last suggestion I made in on of my posts here is Zane Holtz. In From Dusk Till Dawn:The Series(another show that plays with certain weirdness), as Richie Gecko, Holtz effectively plays a psychopath with also a sense of "cool". A mix of "disturbed" and "wit".

That sounds like the Moon Knight persona but the real question is can he play the other personalities? Like Marc Spector's John Wayne-style tough guy, Stephen Grant's sophisticated gentleman, Jake Lockley's street smart taxi driver and Mr. Knight's hard boiled detective. You need somebody capable of playing five people in one and all of them are unhinged.

Where the hell is Marvel getting the money for all this?

They have one show on Netflix right now, with one Season. Did Daredevil get them that much money?!

I think marvel are doing alright for money just now. But wouldn't netflix be paying for it anyway?

Thought sony had control of all spider related characters especially spiderwoman, as they didn't want anyone hurting their brand?

LOL at the thought of anybody hurting the Spider-man brand more than Sony...

IF they ever did have some legal rights to Jessica it would've been to her superhero name, only, not to the Jessica Drew character itself, since it has no connection to Spider-man whatsoever.
However, after the recent developments, I doubt even that minor detail is an issue. I remember some details being discussed about not only Spidey but other characters attached to that IP now being accessible to Marvel, as well as Sony being able to use Marvel-controlled characters on loan in their movies.

BTW, about new characters being shown in either Netflix or the ABC shows... When they do start to show more supernatural related stories, I'd love for the Bloodstone family to show up in some way.

None of those are Spider-Man related characters though. Why would they have any of them? And I doubt they have Spider-Woman at all, especially Jessica Drew.

Otherwise maybe Sony has control of Dr Strange as well, since he was the one who brought her back from the astral realm. But do you really see that? Or the likes of Tigra, who I've listed?

I doubt Sony ever had control over Jessica Drew. They probably would have the ability to sue if she were used under the name Spider-Woman, though. Its not that she's a related character, but that the audience would *think* she's a related character. So, in practice, Marvel couldn't use her without a name, and possibly costume, change.

That's all moot now, of course.
