So I was reading about Ragnarock (the real norse version) and it sounds as cool as hell, with different monsters and beasts including a werewolf with a jaw as big as the sky and other things battling the heroes...it sounded brilliant.

I know Marvel did a Thor Ragnrock arc....was it the same kinda deal? Monsters vs heroes in a climatic, apocalyptic showdown? A full run down would be really appriciated. Is it out in tpb?

Oh man its definitly epic. You truly do get the mythological feel but with Marvel's twist. There are monsters, trolls, demons (Surtur), gods dying. Its truly a good read. And yeh its out on tpb. Somoene else can go into detail im sure.

It's Ragnarök, or ragnarok in english.
But yeah, it would be a good adition to the comics.
Balder is supose to recreate everything after the ragnarok though.

The "Ragnarok" arc that ended the last volume of Thor is available in TPB form as Thor: Disassembled. It's pretty hard to find in the shops that I've been to, but you'll probably be able to find a copy online.

Marvel has had many Ragnarok arcs in Thor's comics. They've usually featured most of the earmarks of the mythical version, with demons and trolls and all that good stuff. The most recent one was really epic and tied the myth into the comics really well. I'd recommend reading it.

There were, of course, a few descrepincies. Heimdall didn't kill Loki, Fenris didn't kill Odin, and Thor and Jormungandr didn;t kill each other. But it was still pretty damn sweet.

Well, the details have never quite matched up with the myth in any of Marvel's versions of Ragnarok.

Q, stop nitpicking like a little *****, it was perfect.

I wasn't nitpicking. I was just mentioning the differences from the Myth. I wasn't saying it was a bad thing.

This story was so damned good. I thought initially I'd hate the idea of Thor dying but this story proved me wrong, better than any of The End crap stories that Marvel puts out from time to time (with the exception of Hulk). The last issue is definitely powerful on an emotional level and when you finally finish the whole thing, it almost feels like it could never have ended any other way.
