I remember as a kid getting to see Mask of the Phantasm in theaters and how awesome an experience it was to get to see my favorite show on the big screen. It wasn't until I watched it for the first time as an adult in 2006 that I suddenly realized how great it really was on an emotional level. I make it a point now to see it at least once a year, even better if it's with someone who hasn't seen it before.
I'd love an anniversary special edition Blu-Ray with commentary and some neat behind the scenes stuff from production. Especially since it's the only animated feature to make it to the big screen.
I still don't know if a Blu Ray version of this or BTAS would actually make it look "better"? I like how it looks like an old techicolor cartoon from the 40s. I think if it were transferred, it would probably lose that charm to it.
honestly, this is the BEST Batman film in all forms of media even including the live action films. great story, excellent voice acting, and so much emotion. you really feel for Bruce in this movie. large part of why he became Batman was because of Andrea leaving him.
Yeah, I commented on that a few days ago. I hated the CGI, but really, that's what I remember most about that movie. I've only watched it once, and I really need to give it a second chance.
