Mask of the Phantasm Blu-Ray?

To tell you the truth, as old as the movie is, I don't think a BR conversion will do all that much for a cartoon. But hell, I don't know for sure. Has Disney imported any of their old cartoon onto BR? And if so, does it actually look any better than the regular DVD?

Surely WB can do something to improve the sound and film quality. The $5 DVD I have is so crappy. :csad:

Would love some sort of restoration.

it's a theatrical release so there's a 35mm print available which will result in a much better picture quality.

I'd love a copy of MOTP on Blu-Ray. Return of the Joker, too.

It's a shame this has yet to get the Blu ray treatment seeing how it still remains as the best Batman adaptation period. (at least in my opinion)

Not to mention the theme song is far better than anything Zimmer, Elfman, or Goldenthal has done with Batman.

Well, this thread is old....

And I change my mind. If the transfer is better, you're goddamn right I want this on Blu Ray.

If the transfer was good enough I would buy the blueray but it would help my decision if they added some awesome extras to it as well!

I have yet to buy B:MOTP on any dvd format. I still own the vhs that's been collecting dust for quite some time. I'm still hoping WB/Timm &Co would do a special edition dvd for this. Hopefully they'll do something for the 20th anniversary next year. I know doubtful, but I can dream. Until then I refuse to buy the present dvd.

ROTJ is just fantastic. I'm glad they presented the real uncut version of the film as they should've.

I won't hold my breath, but I'm all for MOTP on Blu-ray.

I'd love for this to coincide with the release of TDKR on blu ray.

Shirley Walker's score for MOTP was awesome, LOVED the choir doing basically the theme from the animated series (the later one that was not done by Elfman)

I am NOT dissing the AWESOME Elfman version, it is just as good (I loved that they used it for the trailers he he).

put me down for a vote for HELL YES to having MOTP on blu ray!

You would assume that this would be something WB would of already planned on doing.

Every time I see a new post in this thread I think I'm going to read: WB to re-release MOTP in BluRay. :(
