Isn't it just an updated version of the engine, not the actual game assets that's changed? If that's the case, It probably wont be all that different aside from slightly improved lighting and other, almost un-noticeable things. The pc version will still will look the best due to higher levels of anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering and forced ambient occlusion (which acts as a more demanding form of lighting) and higher resolution for a crisper image. It will also have a higher framerate with v-sync, so no screen-tearing.

Looked fine to me, but I'm not a videophile. We're at a stage now where most platform differences in triple-A games are pretty minute anyway.

That's probably because consoles are the lead platform.

Eh, consoles pushed tech with new generations every few years too. But that's been de-emphasized in the current generation because, quite frankly, current-gen games look bloody phenomenal. They look a bit better on super-high-end PCs, granted, but they look damn good on the consoles, too. There's just not much further left to go beyond tightening up the nuts and bolts on current visuals.

Just played through the demo. As odd as it sounds, I forgot how great this game is.

The controls are pretty fluid, and after a few minutes I was good to go. I'm really stunned by how meaty the demo is. You get the entire opening cinematic, character creation, the escape from the Cerberus facility, and a good chunk of the Mordin quest. At least a good hour and a half of gameplay.

Yeah, screen tearing and hick-ups were an issue during the cutscenes. As for the graphics, the difference wasn't overly noticable during combat, but it was noticeable during conversations. The textures are a little sharper and the lighting is better; I had both versions running and compared specific shots during the conversation with Jacob, and the difference is pretty obvious at times.

Another difference I noticed was that a custom Shepard looks much better on the stats screen in the pause menu on the PS3; in the 360 version, custom Shepard's always looked their worst on that screen, haha.

Custom Shepard never ever looks worse than in the first conversation with Jacob in the tutorial level, in which something makes the cheek bones about ready to burst from the skin like an alien embryo.

This makes no sense.

The "interactive comic" was not anything to do with exclusivity. It was made present for the PS3 because there's no ME1 on the PS3, due to its being published by Microsoft.

Terminology. Saying it's PS3-exclusive (meaning only on the PS3) and saying it's -a- PS3 exclusive or that it will only ever be a PS3 exclusive, or what have you, (meaning a la God of War or Killzone or Heavy Rain or Uncharted) are two different things entirely.

Regardless of what joystiq may have put as the title of their article, there's no quote from EA, BioWare, or Sony stating the comic would only ever appear on the PS3. Therefore, it's clearly a matter of the former.

It was most likely just journalist freedom at work, either ways I couldn't care less, exclusivity is marketing nonsense.
