I don't think so. JJ Abrams did Star Trek without any big stars and it cost $150 million at least.

Do you guys think a mass effect tv show could work?
Would the prosthetics work and whatnot be too expensive for tv?
problem is the writers on hollywood coming up with original material on beloved material usually ends up bad and you then see how the game's story was better
prince of persia for example would of been much better if it stuck to the first game which was very dark and gritty and had the sand creatures
 .Farscape had that too.
The main problem with adapting Mass Effect is that the whole premise of this type of game is the interactivity and how your game will differ from others; depending on the choices you make. It's very visceral experience. I mean most games are, but I think Mass Effect has attempted to take it to a whole new level.
It's much easier to adapt a film on Unchartered, Splinter Cell, or whatever, where you're more of a passive observer. And there's nothing wrong with that...it's just the style.
But then again, I'm all game (pun intented) for the Warcraft movie which could hurt my argument. Thought the film will be based on the original games, not WOW itself.
