There is a press conference going on right now.

The speaker says the back door was propped open by a teacher.

He says no resource officer on site but no reason given why he wasn't.

Says as many as 19 officers were in the building, but the guy in charge (doesn't give name) determined it was no longer a shooting situation but a barricaded one so ordered them to back off. The speaker says that was the wrong thing to do.

They made it clear....while the cops were outside the door doing nothing....several of he kids called 911 begging for help.....and the cops sat outside waiting.

They are covering their ass. I do not believe the story that the gunman encountered no opposition outside the school, and didn't enter the school until the cops showed up.

Cops lie. Cops really lie when their own ass is on the line. Unlike in Parkland, when there is one person they can throw under the bus, its a whole department.

My wife's childhood home was across from a gas station, which would get held up somewhat regularly during the course of a year. A while later she asked a friend who joined the force why it took so long for the police to arrive after the alarm rang, despite the station being less than one mile away. She was told that many of his colleagues wanted to avoid an armed confrontation, so they would give the robbers time to get away before they responded.

It looks like we've got a variation of this scenario happening here. The cops wanted to avoid an armed confrontation so they waited until all of the bullets had been fired before getting involved.

I don't have an issue with a hunting rifle I have an issue with military weapons at 18. Maybe instead of calling them all long guns, military weapons should have their own class.

Age has nothing to do with it. This guy didn't shoot up a school because he was 18. He did it because he was mentally unstable. Address mental health and domestic insurrection, propaganda, and online radicalism.

Raising the age limit for rifles to 24 or even 21 would only punish law abiding American adults and hunters of all ages.

Considering the amount of public shootings in the US, you'd think they're train a bit more in the US for those situations (and in general).

Everything I've seen is that insanity is a very, very tough defense to pull off successfully.

I imagine most of them are disgruntled incels who believe their future is bleak. They typically blames others for this. Not sure it qualifies as a defense.
