Mass Violence in America: the All Inclusive Thread

I’m not one to judge people by their appearance, but am I the only one who thinks that just about every one of these nut jobs looks FING bat S crazy?
I'm sure it explains a lot. This guy probably wasn't getting many dates with hot women.

I was very awkward as a high school teenager. I didn’t have a lot of self-confidence due to some unnecessary, constant teasing by my step father. I didn’t, however, go buy a gun and just shoot people. I guess that being a social outcast does make these reactions more likely.

I was the same as you in school. Those of us on the bottom were more likely to Suicide before anything else. Social media has changed all that. Now, it's like if I'm going to check out, I'm taking a bunch of people with me so everyone knows it.

I would be more surprised if this dork didn't become a mass murderer.

Dork is a good word, we shouldn't shame dorks - hell, most of us are dorks considering the forum we've all been on for a decade plus.

He's more evil than that, even pre-shooting. I wouldn't be surprised if he's tortured animals or has pedo-tendencies in his past.

Tucker Carlson is a combination of a penis and a big steaming pile of cow crap.

And he’s just pouring more kerosene on the fire

Oh sure, blame it on porn and video games... :whatever:

Everything but guns and the propaganda Fox News spews.

Best equipped civilian mass murders in the world are found in the United States thanks to the gun manufacturers that fund a political party to keep it going and acce$$ible.

But Fox won't tell you that.

So CNN is reporting that Crimo's dad sponsored his gun license AFTER the incident where the kid had threatened to kill his family and had his knives taken. Sponsored because the kid was underage at the time. I don't know if sponsorship ends when the kid turns 21 but it still seems to that there is some liability on the part of the dad. He knew his kid had issues and still gave him access to guns.

So these......uh......women....women, that's it, these uh women kept uh......harassing me.....yeah, they kept harassing me and every time I try to talk to one of them, they act all weird......so I got an assault rifle and killed a bunch of people.

The Washington Post - Suspect confessed to mass shooting, considered 2nd attack, authorities say

Before the presidential election in 2020, he became a fixture at local rallies in support of President Donald Trump and gatherings of far-right activists, said Rachael Wachstein, a longtime resident who organizes social justice events in the mostly liberal area.

Wachstein said she first saw Crimo at a September gathering of Trump supporters held near the site of the July 4 shooting. It drew a crowd of local counterprotesters, according to Wachstein and local news accounts. “He was pretty aggressive,” she said. “He was up in my friend’s face, shouting.” In photos of the event, Crimo, wearing bright red pants and a sweatshirt with a smiley face, can be seen standing near a crowd holding pro-Trump flags, as police officers monitor the gathering.

In the weeks that followed, Wachstein said she spotted Crimo at a similar pro-Trump event in Northbrook and with a group of far-right activists that showed up to stage counterprotests at weekly vigils Wachstein organized in nearby Deerfield. He often dressed like Waldo from the “Where’s Waldo?” puzzle book series, according to Wachstein and photos of the events.

Given Crimo’s activism, she said, she now wonders whether Crimo attacked the community because of its liberal views. “I could just see him thinking it would be great fun to ruin everyone’s holiday,” she said.

I heard Crimo was living with his uncle who had no idea he had guns. Is it normal in the U.S for young men to have a bunch of expensive guns while not having their own place to live?

I would think most rational 21 year olds would rather spend money having their own living space than on firearms.

I can't say it is normal but at the same time in certain areas and economic levels it is not that unusual.

Depends on whether a person prioritizes living on their own. If they don't then spending money on other things they do care about makes sense.

It's amazing and sad that people still need to search for the reasons why. This happens so much in this godforsaken country that we know every reason and excuse. We've heard it all before, and will hear it a million more times.
