Who ever wanted Goat Man? We should've had Beast Man or Mer Man. Goat Man is as bad as those made up characters for the 1987 MOTU movie.

Jared Leto is no Frank Langella. He's already a step down.

I'm late to this, but I have a guess: They want to kill off some of the villains, have others escape. and likely have Skeletor appear to be dead but leave it open for him to return. I'm guessing Goat Man was chosen because he looks cool and they can kill him off without using up one of the more popular villains. If they wanted a huge character they could have had Beast Man fill that role.

I think after Kubo and the Two Strings and Bumblebee, he’s earned enough good will and the benefit of a doubt.

I mean, the former is a fantasy film about a group of characters going on a quest, and Bumbleebee was basically a “alien crashes on earth and befriends a human“ story (this film supposedly starts out with Adam crashing on earth and later as a young man going on a quest for the Sword of Power, which is practically almost like a combination of the plots of the last two films that he did), and Masters of the Universe is just fantasy and sci-fi mashed together.

His first two films were basically just him auditioning for MOTU. This is already in his wheelhouse. He’s got this.

According to John Campea, the movie costumes will look very faithful to the cartoons, that the sets for Eternia look fantastic and that Beast Man and Man E Faces are in this.

Man I grew up on the He-Man cartoon, but I have forgot most of it and this movie isn’t making want to start looking stuff up again. Hope this is great.

I'll always have a soft spot for this IP. It was the first one I was into. Castle Grayskull is still the greatest toy from my childhood. No idea how a modern audience will react to it but I'm positive Travis Knight will make a great movie. I'm excited.

Mekaneck has been cast. Don't know the actor at all but glad to see the character in it. But I would rather have had Stratos. Also I wish MerMan were in it too.

Also why is this thread still called "Grayskull"? That's not the name of this movie at all but just simply Masters of the Universe.

This was my favourite cartoon as a kid, the Dolph movie has a nostalgic charm for me but was pretty removed from the toon I loved. I honestly never thought this new live action adaptation would get off the ground after so many failed attempts, I'm curious to see some footage, not keen on them being on Earth again though.
