HAHAHHA holy **** i just read this interview and it's the realest **** ever spoken

MATTHEW GOODE plays Andrew Veidt/Ozymandias in the movie, expected to be one of the biggest hits of 2009.

But the 30-year-old actor – who has previously appeared in Match Point and Brideshead Revisited – went on the offensive after learning hardcore fans are saying he doesn’t suit the character before even watching the film.

He said: “The negative feedback is relayed by my friends. I think the fanboys aren’t particularly happy – there are a load of people they’d have rather had in before me.

“It’s already being slated before they’ve seen anything.

“But if fanboys still hate the film after going and seeing it, they can all line up and s*** my d***.

“I don’t give a f***.”

Matthew added: “I’m having a child and that’s more important to me – so I don’t give a f***.

“Grow a d***.”

i've never thought he was a bad choice, I was always on the wait and see side. After seeing those clips of him in the movie i'm pretty impressed.

Yep I havent seen the film but the clips of him I have seen of so far he sucks and doesnt seem like Ozymandias. Plus he looks to thin in the movie, anyway one more day to go.

Wow. He's really good at dealing with criticism. How old is he again?

he plays andrew veidt? they changed his name? :oldrazz:

Good for him.

At least he realizes this is just a **** ing movie and actually has things going on in the real world.

ill be honest...i respect matthew goode more and more as the movie approaches...this guy is the man!

I must admit, I still don't really think he looks like Veidt/Ozymandias, who is not only supposed to be have a top physique but also high intellect, but I hope I'll be proven wrong when I go to see Watchmen this Friday. Btw, I don't think he deals with criticisms very well. He probably could've handled it better.

I think he handled it fine.

From the context of his words and how I'm sure by now more and more actors/film makers know just how insane and obsessed fanboys can be, he was saying it in a "I really don't give a **** but you can all suck it because I am having a baby which is part of my real life...you know reality."

That's what I got out of it. He was just sticking it to the fanboys with no lives that obsess over every detail like it makes a difference in the real world.

I saw watchmen at a screening on Monday Night and I loved Goode as Veidt, something so arrogant and upper class yuppie, Goode brought a lot to the film. He was probably my favorite performance, along with Rorschach.

I know Goode has been one of the movie's question marks but I've liked everything I've seen of him so far. I'm glad to hear that someone really liked his performance.

I wish he wasn't so vulgar about how he felt.
He could have phrased it more eloquently.

i love how he responded to this. its like he took it down to the fanboy level so they can understand.

anyways, goode was quite good in the film. he played the role very well.

well if you follow Goode, you know this is how he jokes and talks. He could have said that very phrase, but so lightheartedly that it really meant nothing. Yes he does use some colorful language a lot of times but he wouldn't seriously insult fans even those in disagreement.

Yep I remember seeing him at comic con last year on the watchmen Panel and he swore a few times there, maybe he thinks swearing makes him cool.

:applaud

SOOOO true. cant wait for all those who criticized him to see the film. as for his response to the fan boys i think he was no more right than he was wrong but he realizes that having a kid is far more important than what a fan boy thinks and im more than fine with that. man has values.

He's delivering everything fanboys deserve. They need to shut the **** up, wait for the movie to come out, THEN deliver their opinions. Even then, we don't want to hear about 90% of them, as most of it will be, "This wasn't right, so it wasn't good," B.S.

Matthew Goode =

He's English. Swearing isn't much of a taboo there.
