So in the trailer, that song....is that a Marilyn Manson song? What is the name of it?

Where's the link and ill tell you. Im pretty sure its off his newest cd.

Impressive, you've seen the movie already. :whatever:

Well she has a point video game movies have a repetitive streak of well sucking, I am sure shes not alone in thinking that due to the fact I feel the same way as I am sure others do as well.

If they had decent actors, a decent scriptwriter, & a decent director maybe Video Games movies might be good, & it looks like we are finally getting a lot closer toward those things with Max Payne & especially with Bioshock & Prince of Persia which have both a big budget, great scriptwriters, & big names producers/directors attached unlike any other video game adaption.

P.S. plus we always got Wing Commander the greatest video game adaption yet ;) :D

Is the second poster taken from the same location as the I Am Legend poster.

The movie looks great! Very Max Payne! Much better than i think any of us thought it would... One thing, though.... Max Should have been James Remar... Sure, he's a little bit too old but EVERY videogame movie makes changes to the source material, they may as well be for the better...

Saw the trailer for this recently... I haven't played the games, but I thought Max Payne was a pretty down-to-earth story about a guy who has lost everything and is taking out the bad guys... Why does the movie have demon creatures flying around setting fire to things? Are those in the games?

The demons are hallucinations brought on by the drug known as V.

Hallucinations, don't let the advertising worry you. Fox played up the whole 'trained by the church' aspect of Hitman, yet there wasn't anything about that in the script.

They have probably shoe-horned some supernatural element into the movie. I would expect they are less of hallucinations, and more about always being there, you just need the drug to see them. We'll no doubt see Payne fighting them at some point.

Mark.W said he takes the drug to 'level the field', so it's likely they will be a threat to him, but he can't do anything about it until he takes this drug.

They seem to be putting way too much of the Valkryie crap into the advertisements for something that's just a hallucination in the script.

The best poster so far has been the brick wall one because it looks exactly like something from the game. All the posters with these stupid Angels on it can suck it.

My thoughts exactly. I love the 'silhouette on the wall' poster.

Pretty sure they are going with the game story in that the angels are hallucination.
You can even see a guy putting some of the drug in himself.

Awesome, I'd say they are about equal...but if your comparing to Bale's Batman sure Max Payne would totally kick his ass :hehe:

Say what you will about Mark Wahlberg they guy does seem to have a wonderful down to earth sense of humor. However, in terms of acting I find him to be hit or miss, he seems to really need the right director or else he plays his same old wooden self ala Four Brothers or Shooter as oppose to someone different ala The Departed. With that said I am looking forward to Max Payne...

I know nothing about the game, but the trailers look cool as hell, and I can't wait to see this film. I'm a big Wahlberg fan as well.

I think it has more to do with the originality aspect. I'm certain most of the movie is the bullet-time shootouts that made the game fameous, but we've seen that thousands of times. These mysterious "valkaries" give it a slight twist.

Well from an advertising POV, they're just trying to make it look deeper than it actually is. Payne should be priding itself on style (not excluding substance mind you).

We've had VG adaptations that range from terribly bad to pretty average. If the role of these things have became more of the focus in the movie I think they're going to overshoot the mark and make something too complicated for their own good. Trying to cram depth into every scene, and it's just going to end up trying to be something it's not, and shouldn't be aiming for.

For anyone that's about to bite my head off, yes, they are very well written games, but writing for a game is different. Things can be deep and have a lot of substance without packing every second of screentime with it.

So who is the villain? Caught a glimpse of Sucre from Prison Break in there  He's playing Jack Lupino

The trailer does look very slick. I have a bit of hope for this movie. I'm willing to go watch it but with all the video game adaptations before it I'm not sure how well it will fair.
