if they wanted max payne to be like constantine so badly, they probably should have just made a sequel.

Too bad what you're referring to in Max Payne is hallucinations and not demons or otherworldly concepts. Viking/Norse mythology has been mentioned in the Max Payne games so it's not all that unfaithful.

The people who used the Valkyr drug are known to see Valykries and start hallucinating some weird ****.

I seem to remember hearing that there was a sneak peek for this on Monday with Prison Break. Was there anything interesting in that?

Max Payne noir-ly gets an 'R,' MPAA settles on 'PG-13'

Director John Moore has confirmed that the film adaptation of Max Payne will receive a PG-13 rating when it releases Oct. 17. Earlier this month, the director admitted he was in a fight with the Motion Picture Association of America after being told his movie "feels R."

In an interview with GameDaily, Moore states that they merely "trimmed some frames," but didn't make any major changes. It's certainly amusing that a kid will be able to purchase a ticket to the movie adaptation of an M-rated game s/he shouldn't be able to purchase in a store.

And Fox is at it again! Jesus Christ.

Just to add to that, he has also said they will release his version of the movie whent the DVD comes out.

I don't know why Fox are bending over backwards for this guy and this film. Letting him do it his way with 1 limitation, the rating. Letting HIM edit the movie to get the rating they wanted, letting him release his version of the movie. I mean, these are the guys that have pretty much ruined every franchise people knew them for, now they're pulling out everything for him.

If it's not in the same DVD 'set' (like Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2.1), it will likely be released as an 'unrated' version. Usually Fox have an unrated DVD that they use to try and fix mistakes they never should have made.

Yup... Live Free or Die Hard... CGI blood... they should've just written and filmed an R rated Die Hard... *******s..

I'm always puzzled by Hitman's Unrated version since it was R rated in cinemas, F*X are ******ed but hey Max Payne could end up being their biggest film this year, only got What Happens in Vegas to beat.

Hitman's unrated DVD was so Fox could try and clear their name for what they did to the movie. (Firing the director and ripping his movie apart, there's at least 15 minutes of alternate/deleted footage out there). They wanted it to seem like they were doing people that wanted to the see the original movie a favour, however they made the mistake they just keep making. They think we're idiots and would accept that they only cut a minute and a half from the film outside of alternate footage.

'Unrated' simply means they didn't submit it before releasing, it's not meant to be a super violent movie, it is simply unrated.

Eh why do fans moan so much? They want a PG-13 film and so be it. Atleast we know the movie was rated R because it is really dark. I really think film fans culture has gone down. They expect everything to be R. Guess what? HALO movie won't be R. It will be PG-13 and I am sure everyone will complain then.

I think PG-13 movies can be awesome too and very dark.

I personally don't mind it being a PG-13 too much, its just it is quite an adult oriented story to begin with so to contain it in a PG-13 it might be losing something from the original source.

And what Halo movie :p, technically speaking there isn't one being made at this moment, only a spec script floating about. And frankly Halo could easily be a PG-13 anyway, if the games took away what little blood it had in it it would be suitable for a Teen rating almost, its no Unreal, Gears of War, Doom, COD, etc.

true but halo is simply fun and has much better story than those games. Gears of War movie will be R rated for sure.

yeah I only meant UT, GoW, Doom etc by content not overall quality cause frankly they are crap in comparison :D

I like the videogame, but this movie has a terrible cast outside of Mark Wahlberg. I shouldn't be defending him after Shooter, We Own the Night, Four Brothers and the Happening. He has been making some bad decisions on movies. He is in a movie with Mila Kunis as a serious role and Chris O'Donnell (f***ing Robin)! I have a bad feeling about this movie...

I will give it a shot but won't be surprised if it gets a less than 30% approval rating.

Wait wait wait... Chris O'Donnell is in this film?

Doesn't look as bad as I thought it was going to be. Walhberg isn't weathered enough for Max and Mona looks nothing like Mona. Don't like the over the top "dreams". Much preferred the subtle ones from the game.

For me the true versions of the characters are from the first game so I think Walhberg looks quite similar (especially if you ever seen some comparison pics) & Kunis does like a little like the original Mona.

Nonetheless can't wait for this movie.

Much prefer the second games models. When they actually got a chance to give them definitive looks. Mona is a strong character and Kunis looks to soft. Is Vinny in the movie? Best character next to Vlad.
