Did anyone else enjoy this series as much as I did. Feedback please.

Meh. It was alright.

And yes, I understand the irony.

I did not like it. It felt like they were trying to milk the symbiont thing (NOW WOTH FIFTY GOLD FOIL TRIFOLD COVERS!!!), which I feel should be a special event thing, not a series. And none of it made any sense. How was carnage so strong when his host was so weak? How could he get away with flinging giant blades around without depleting his symbiont? Why did it seem that the series was picked up more by people I’d never seen in my comic shop before or ever again?

Maximum Carnage was the nail in the coffin that made me decide to stop collecting comics. It was something like 6 years before I became a full on collctor again

So is your name and avy inspired by the game? 'Cause the comic sucked balls, but that game ruled!

It was my first big Spider-Man crossover as a fan and I highly enjoyed it for what it was.

I thought it sucked, and was kinda borring.
Waaay too drown out.
14 parts no thanx, Il go read a decent SM comic instead.

I wasn't a big fan as the supporting characters were characters I was not interested in. As has been said previously it was a time with those stupid foil covers and also made me decide to quit collecting the Spiderman comics.

Strange as I'm getting the same feelings now about Spiderman.

No, actually I had read the series a long time ago, and the name inspired my Counter-Strike handle. Max Carnage sounds kind of like a name. As nerdish as it is, I've stuck with it ever since. :)

Aloha,
The game on SNES was the only one I've ever enjoyed. The comics arc was about 7 comics too long.
Spidey rules

I read it when it was released in TPB and it took me months, I really found it drawn out and just got bored reading it so i wouldnt go back to it for weeks at a time.

that series is what got me collecting comics again. i was in elementary school when it came out and i got like issue 3 at a rest stop when i was on vacation. it took me a few yrs to get all the issues but i did it and it got me hooked on getting all the mini series in spider-man

i read the tpb... not that special... but some brilliant artists where with marvel back then..
bagley, lyle, buscema... i want lyle back...

personally, i thought maximum carnage was really poorly written, like a lot of other comics from the mid-90's. for as many issues as it was, there wasn't a whole lot of stuff really happening.

Too long and way too many characters. Just a way to exploit Carnage and to try and overuse Carbage the way they did Venom. I like Carnage, but come on! MaxCar was too much, and the way Spider-Man would occansionaly reminiscence about the death of Harry Osborne? Why didn't they just do a proper follow-up to GG2's death?

So it seems like alot of people disliked it. Hmm..I found it interesting. not just because Carnage is my favorite Spider-Man Character but because I find every single story arc involving symbiotes fascinating(No matter how much they milk it). But there will be times when I question something in storylines. But nevertheless I liked Maximum Carnage.

And yeah the Game rocked. It rocked so hard that I decided to get it for the SNES and the Genesis. I still own both systems and the games for both of them.

got any decent SM comics to recomend?

I'm a Carnage fan, favourite villian in my book. But Maximum Carnage was crap. I mean, the dialogue, so awful.

I really liked it. Of course, I was young at the time, so I didn't have the knowledge of writing that I do now (Jr. High vs. College with an English degree alters perspectives). But I thought, for its time, it was a good story. Marvel usually somewhat kept shy from violence to the extent Carnage was intended for, but this story did well at making him seem gruesome.

Could he be better? Yes. But it wasn't a bad story.

The game, on the other hand, SUCKED. Why? It was incredibly hard and I only managed to beat it once. Does this mean the game really sucked? Not really, I'm just holding a grudge. ;)

Like some of the people here, it was the first "big" Spider-man event I ever collected. It was the series that pretty much made me fall in love with Bagley's art. It was always go down as one of my favorite stories ever even though I know that at the core it was just pure hack and slash fun.

I still feel today that this should have been Carnage's last story. The character should have died and ended right then and there.
