Media response to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann excessive?

maybe mommy dearest did do it...mmmmm

She was offered a plea deal folks, the cops know something.

something stinks here

i do think that the whole coverage is kinda sickening, yes i pray the child is unhurt but its not likely at this stage.

what's sad is is it had been a single parent they would have been lynched, what i want to know why didnt social services jump all over the parents, they left there 3 kids in a hotel room in a foreign country and went to get drunk. but as other have said its taboo to say anything bad about them

I know! They say its distasteful but they left their 3 children alone in a foreign country, in a hotel filled with strangers while they went off to eat! That is irresponsible and even if it turns out that didn't do it they need a stern talking to from social services for the sake of their remaining children.

Personally i think its suspicious that apparantly it took weeks for Kate mcCann to remove the body into the car by which time the police were already involved so why didn't they find her body? They say there were bodily fluids on kates clothes- unless its blood i'm sure any mother would have them on their clothes from looking after a small child. Apparantly Kate was offered a deal in her interview for her confession- if they had evidence they wouldn't do that. Remember Robert Murat who was a suspect- i think that was to look like the police were doing something and its the same in this case. They have no idea so need someone to pin it on. Its been over 100 days and no arrests. I'm guessing the embassy is piling on the heat now.

This is still the first thing that pops in my head every time I think about this whole case. The fact they left such young children alone places some blame on them.

Stupid move on theyre part for sure; however you still lack a motive...that and they found her blood in a car they rented 25 days later?

explain this to me like im a 5 year old...

if the parents had the body the whole time; how the hell did noone find out?

the problem is I can't feel any sympathy for the parents... they left their children in their hotel room to go out with no parent left in the room to mind the children? What kind of idiotic thing is that to do?

I believe that no one could be foolish enough to leave such young children alone in a foreign country. If the McCanns are..well, thats a shame for them. But if they're not, it makes it seem to be a very suspicious thing to do.

Shes dead end of story who cares?

If it turns out the parents killed her then print a story but until then make some real front pagers.

The think about Madeleine's presence in the media all the time is that maybe it wasn't such a good idea...
whoever kidnaped her they know that (because of all the publicity) all eyes are now on them. Almost everyone knows Madeleine's face and they can't afford to be seen with her. And I don't suppose that these are people who would go through the trouble.

-perverting the course of justice
-manslaughter
-wasting of police time
-conspiracy after the fact

And they are given a 2 year plea? Scuse me be that's at least 12.

But hey, they got famous, so whoop whoop for them.

I presume scooping nearly 3 Million from donations for them to take a world tour would add to the list? Isn't that some kind of fraud charge?

yup, if they plead, they should have a minimum of 12 years and lose custody of their remianing child

the newest thing on the radio is the mother is a qualified anaesthetist, and she put the children under, so they could go out for the night and possibly overdosed the child.

Very bad news, was reported in the paper to, this is murder in the second pretty much.

Omg, it's hard to believe a person would do such a selfish thing. It's unbelievable. Even if the children were simply "sleeping," what if there had been a fire - there are so many possibilities it boggles the mind; that a supposedly loving parent would leave them alone, sedated or otherwise.

Yes, it would seem so. And then, to spend how many months, creating a media circus .. for a child you didn't even care enough about to stay with, in the first place. This case is bizarre on so many levels.

yeah it really is mind boggling to think about that..only cold bloodedmurderers can do something like that..as to pretend you reallycared fr achild when you really killed her.shame. if you don't want your kids give them up.

Man, and she was so cute.

She would've turned out to become a hot UK model.

DAM YOU MCCANNE. Lynch her and her husband. They need the death penality. This is beyond f**ked.

Of course they neglected their supervision duties... people start talking like it's definite they actually killed her. At the moment they're just suspects, nothing's proven and I refuse to believe they killed their own daughter (although I know these things happen).

If they really were guilty why would they create all the attention in the media?

My opinion? A little part of me thinks Kate did kill Madeleine. Either accidentally or intentionally.
It's just too weird, and people can't help but get riled up by my thoughts on the case.

I mention that maybe Kate is a rightful suspect, and they're up in arms.
The whole 'suing the newspaper's accusations' got to me, too. If I had lost my daughter (if I had one, note), the least on my mind would be money...or someone's allegations. I'd just ignore them, and go on hoping with the search.
