MegaCon: Marvel Panel

USAgent couldn't be in Union Jack because of Civil War? USAgent was barely in Civil War.....GRRRRR

What makes you say that?

this:

Perkins said he and Steve Epting, who have alternated issues on Captain America, will now be drawing halves of the same issue beginning with #26.

"Each will be a different section with different characters," Perkins said.

and this:

"It leads the book somewhere else," he said. "And Ed (Brubaker, writer) has been been leading up to this previously."

Perkins noted that Brubaker advised him to draw Captain America in a similar body form to Tom Strong from Alan Moore's America's Best Comics.

I still don't see how you could infer that from those statements.

Is McNiven exclusive?I'm surprised Marvel doesn't have anything lined up for the guy immediately.

They probably didnt want to put anything on him while drawing the already delayed Civil War.

Let him go to DC. Marvel will be fine.

well, the fact that they're requesting cap to be drawn like someone else, as opposed to how he's been drawn thus far, might be a clue.

also, perkins and epting tackling different characters' stories within the pages of captain america could be another.

it just makes me think of something a la frontline, where there's a lot of different stories taking place in one title; all revolving around a similiar theme. that, and cap's not in either avengers title (in less he's ronin), leads me to believe that he's missing for the time being.

perhaps his title will deal with his absence affecting those close to him.

is that better?

The draw him like Tom Strong comment seemed like he was talking about instructions from the beginning in the series.

and the rest?

you honestly don't see how that's even remotely possible?

well then, what would you "infer from those statements"?

i think it's interviews like these is when the most information is slipped out. there's generally less hype, and more shop talk.

A lot of vagueness.
Yeah, there's really not a whole lot of substance to the Cap-related stuff there. My gut reaction to what was said was that Bucky might be playing a bigger role--like, say, starring in half of each issue. Some kind of resolution between Cap, Bucky, and the Skull/Lukin is basically what Brubaker's been "leading up to" throughout his run, and if Perkins and Epting are each drawing different stories in each issue, it'd make sense for Cap to be dealing with his post-CW stuff in one and Bucky continuing his search for Lukin/Skull in the other--at least, if Brubaker's actually going to stick to what he's been doing previously and not go in a totally different direction.

But that's all a boatload of speculation.
