so while its' true this could have been a opportunity for bay to cast someone good like natalie portman or rachael mcadams or in that line, you can't really deny megan's place in the franchise, and it's really not that much of a stretch to hire RHW

To then go and fire her to replace her with someone who has zero experience and a fantastic body is idiotic...if that is indeed the case and this isn't all a ploy by Bay to get the media in a frenzy. Now we will get a third movie with a worse actress, plot holes and conveniences to fill the gaps, and a new dynamic regarding chemistry between the actors. This has disaster written all over it.

I know she was in that one Lohan Disney movie also. Confessionals of a Teenage Drama Queen. (Not a great movie, but its still something compared to Miss Model Nothing) and a Olsen Twins movie. Still not the greatest, but still something.

i still think we have to keep in mind that it is a transformers movie. maggie gynllehaal is a better actress than katie homes on paper, but i thought she was a terrible rachael dawes compared to her.

like i said, firing fox would have been a perfect opportunity for a good actress like mcadams or portman, but i think it would be wasted talent for them. a realistic step up would be alba.

you guys can say experience all you want, none of it showed in the movie. and like i mentioned, everyone has a day 1, including many model-turned-actors.

in my post, i didn't deny that she had experience, just that she wasn't hired because of it.

BAY makes KICK-ASS, action, blockbusters... thats what he does! He doesn't make deep though provoking films, so stop complaining about the movie for having a bad actress and a ****** plot. You go to see his movies to see HUGE ****ing explosions and hot chicks.

i sometimes forget how awesome the Rock was. it seems like bay is creating more and more of a caricature of himself with each successive movie. with that being said, i always liked his movies, it's always a guaranteed good time at the movies.

We have all seen Fox's acting ability but we haven't seen this model chicks. To be fair we don't know if she is bad because we haven't seen her act yet. I think that she has a 90% chance of being a bad actress but we just don't know yet.

And with the new VS ad on Rosie, it's pretty much turned into farce. And I feel bad for the crew since it's obvious that SOMEbody's working really hard on these movies. They're great productions. TF1, ID4 and The Mummy are three of my favourite movies. I've lost count how many times I've watched them.

Bay's female leads have always been so irrelevant that it doesn't matter if he now chooses a non-actor for such a part.

Bay is Bay and after all these years I don't understand why certain fanboys expect 'better' (I don't care for him btw but I understand where his defenders are coming from to an extent) from him.

The Rock, which always gets dragged up in conversations when ppl believe he can deliver much better movies, benefited largely from an A-list leading man (Sean Connery) who brought his own screenwriters to the project screenwriters that ended up rewriting the whole film. The Michael Bay of today has more control over his vision(if one can call it that) than he did 15 years ago when more experienced/powerful hands were able to make creative decisions above his head.

With ARMAGEDDON, PEARL HARBOUR (the original script which he changed into the laughable pic we got) TF1, 2 etc we are seeing what Bay dictates to be entertaining so asking for him to change is pointless.

the producers concieve the ideas in those cases and without don simpson on board, bruckhiemer(sp) is a red headed lunatic that only has the first pirates going for him.

TF 2 needed a script.

it's possible, but it's also an ungrounded statement again. grain of salt.
fact is the last time connery "brought in his writers" it resulted in lxg and a blowout with the director of (my cherished) blade.

maybe, maybe not. But here's a fact: the don simpson bay produced films were much better than the non simpson ones. not including the speilberg ones that is.
days of thunder and bev cop are tony scott films and eventhough I'm not his biggest fan Top Gun was pretty good.
as was Crimson Tide.

I'd Kill for a film made by the three of them right about now, but that's just me.
