So everything has pointed to a Megatron return, and though I was hoping otherwise (I think it'd be cool to see someone else at the helm of the Decepticons) they really had to bring him back.

A) He didn't really get any serious screen interaction time in the first one to build his character...

B) This is Transformers after all, and Transformers has always been Megatron v. Optimus (even though there are a lot of fights, this has always been the central one)

and

C) Though they squared off, the focus of the action was not on Megs v. Optimus in the first movie...not really much, just tossing each other around, and such.

SO For this thread lets assume Megs is returning.....How do you bring back a dead robot from the deepest pit on Earth?

He's gonna come back as....................

GROOVATRON!!!!

He's gonna come back thanks to Soundwave. He's his most loyal lieutenant afterall.

Simple:

A) He Cube Merged With His Spark, Overloading His Body, Coma
He Reawakens With The Life Giving Cube Part Of Himself. Giving Him Abbility To Create New Bots.

B) The Fallen From The Original 13 Comes To Earth Drawn B The Cubes Recent Exposure, For Shadowing The Arivel Of Unicron. Now The Autobots Have To Stop Him From Something. At Climax Or Ed Ensing The Cube Power Draws Minions Of Unicron To The Deep And Recover Megs Seting Up For Galv In Part 3.

C) Or Some Variation. One Thing We Know Is That Megs Will Be Back Some Point In This Movie

Galvatron? hope not, well not yet......we need at least one film with some real Megatron character development and then we can switch to Galvatron, who I have say is my favorite.

From the information I read, scorponok retrieves the body, and what the cube did was cause Megs to have a power-overload.

The script treatment that I read states that Soundwave has the ability to "tune" this power to re-sync it in Megs body, thus allowing him to function again.

Obvisously pure speculation, but would be a cool way to do it...if they could pull it off right.

Thats not exactly true.

Season 3 of the G1 cartoon was about Rodimus v Galvatron [but he was the same character:oldrazz:.

Besides that there was Masterforce,Victory,Zone,.....all of these shows had no Megatron or Optimus at all.

As far as I am concerned I think Megatron should be used in a few flashbacks that Optimus has in the movie. I want Starscream to return to Cybertron with lies of Megatron dieing and then bringing back a force of Decepticons back to Earth. Then at the end of the film, the last Megatron loyal Decepticon aka Soundwave finds Megatron and brings him back at the end. The final battle sees Megatron telling Starsceam that he was never a compatent leader and sends him back to the bottom of the food chain.

That's actually a half decent idea, I know that first leaked script delt with some kind of a connection between Soundwave and Megatron, there was also the inclusion of the "Creation matrix" in there somewhere.

I'm hoping that it's something that's basically a cross between these two theories. I like the idea that the energy from the Allspark has basically caused Megatron to overload and shut down and I like the idea that it's Soundwave who helps bring him back, however there's a change I'd make to it in my combined version of these 2 theroies.

Simply put, instead of Soundwave performing some kind of re-sync with Megs' body, he should be more like the Decepticon version of Ratchet; the team's medic. If anyone could reroute power sectors and perform repairs to get Megs up and running again, it'd be an evil version of Ratchet.

That's just my 5 cents though.:whatever:

I remember reading somewhere that Bay said we would see different species(something along those lines) from the transformers universe. If so, one of my theories is that the quintessons may make an appearance, and revive Megatron since they can revive transformers as seen in the ending of G1.

My other theory is the all spark fragment becomes the main plot of the story with the decepticons seeking it out to bring back megatron.

I 100% agree with you on this, It seems like the new comic Reign of Starscream, which links the two movies, that Starscream is the new leader, then in TF2 Soundwave eventually makes it to Earth and his mission is to obtain "the splinter" or the last piece of the cube and use it to revive Megatron, since he is so loyal to him.

I could definately agree with you, but I am just wondering, did the Decepticons even have anyone like that...I can't seem to remember anyone?

Megatron doesn't need any 'resurrection' theories. It's a known fact; he's frickin' indestructable. He has no known weakness...he can't be killed.

Normaly, i would sic the Grammar Ninjas on you, even they were overwhelmed by this post. Please tell me you haven't graduated from high school yet.

idk if they will introduce The Fallen, he isn't a very well known character, and i don't think he was part of the G1 universe much. I think by the fallen, they refer to those who have been destroyed in the last movie, most likely Megatron getting his revenge on the Autobots.

I think that Soundwave will hear that Starscream is the new leader which he dislikes, since he is loyal to Megatron. So Soundwave with a team will go to earth to try to retrieve the allspark to discover its only a "splinter". He will then try to obtain it and eventually will and revive Megatron.

The Allspark deactivating Megatron is the best route. Though I hope that he doesn't get any special powers because of the merger.

Who is the Decepticon medic? I don't remember them having one. I know they're some cold hearted bastards who don't even care about their own, bit still....

...i think Soundwave was a medic/scientist of sorts. He was the one who came up with the idea of storing the energy in energon cubes, etc. I know for a fact that Starscream as well as Jetfire, were fellow colleague scientists, before the war began in the G1-verse.

They did have one character that once served like a Medic....Hook of the Constructicons.

They did, Soundwave.

They never showed Soundwave serving in the capacity of a medic in the G1 toon.

With The Fallen being introduced possibly, is there even a need for Megatron to return? Dont me wrong, i hope he does, but if The Fallen is truly the villain of TF2 its possible Bay may save the return of Megatron for TF3.

YUP :D thats what i was under the impression of. We don't need megs clashing with this guy and its to obvious that megs will return bay should just delay it for the 3rd one.
