I once had to make a presentation in my Catholic high school about different kinds of witchhunts. I used "The Crucible" as one, the 80s AIDS crisis for another, and the blood libel of the Jews in the middle ages for another.

When I finished, my English teacher said, "Very well done, but you should know from now on that we don't use words like that in class."

Me: "Um, what words?"

Teacher: "Jews."

Me: "?????"

Teacher: "It's a pejorative term. They're Jewish People." Of course, the Jews (oh, I'm sorry, Jewish people) that I know say this is BS.

driving drunk, no wouldn't surprise me, I have to be honest and say I've driven after drinking...wrong thing to do, but to say I haven't would be a lie....as far as racist remarks....yeah that would surprise me...

What blows my mind is people that say they aren't racist. Everyone is to a certain degree....some are more vocal than others, but its there....I'm certainly not going to deny that, but I can also say that I'm not vocal about it.....doesn't make it anymore right or wrong...vocal or not....

But when drunk people say and do stupid things.....thats a fact.....we just don't get them publicized.....and we should probably be thankful...

Being drunk doesn't make you liar - it loosens your inhibitions that would have otherwise prevented you from saying what you are currently thinking.

And, as Assassin and Cyma have demonstrated - some people actually agree with what Mel's said under the influence. That just ticks me off. I haven't blamed my problems on other races, either.
