I think a lot of it has to do with how ugly it is. I wonder how many women on here are attracted to penis's? And it's not just guys, I used to watch Oz with a girl who would always look away in disgust at the sigth of a cockadoodledo

I have no problem with male frontal nudity, in fact by the time you get to that in a film I've already beating the actor to the punch.

That's fine but then why should it be that you don't care whether or not there is female nudity but male nudity is an absolute not from what i gather from your posts

I have had an issue with something for a while now and I thought I would get some thoughts from other people's prespectives. This was brought on when I went to go see Watchmen for the 2nd time. Anytime they showed Dr.Manhattan naked or any other male character naked for that matter,t here were guys in the general area that would just freak out or make ewww gross comments like a pre-teen girl who thinks she just got cooties from the boy who just kissed her. It's wasn't just the Watchmen film either. I see or hear this all the time and I just don't get it. Why the need to freak out. Have you never seen that part of the male anatomy. YOU HAVE ONE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. Do you look down at yours and cry eww gross or freak out? I don't think I have ever seen girls have this reaction to a naked girl. So I want to know why the need to freak out and act like a child. Are you one of the people who do this? Are you worried that the second you see a male reproductive organ you are going to be automatically gay? Perhaps you are worried you may not measure up. Whatever. I am just curious to know why males (and I don't mean this to include all males but a large majority) have this reaction to another naked man. I really don't see the issue. Thoughts.......

Anytime I read guys comments about Watchmen on Myspace or Bebo Watchmen fan pages, they always make a deal over Manhattan's penis. It's mostly from the same guys that play sports and shower with nude guys on a daily basis, so I don't see what their problem is at the end of the day. Male nudity isn't something that pops up in a superhero film, so I'm guessing a of people were shocked. But it's just a penis, most guys look at porn and see them all the time when a girl is chomping down on it.

I would just like to reiterate that its not just the nudity in Watchmen I am talking about that was just and example cause that is where it happened recently. I am talking more along the lines of in general. Also it's not even just a penis. Many a guy freak if they even see a male rear end

Like many things in life, this can be explained with a Seinfeld quote: "The female body is a work of art. The male body is utilitarian. It's for gettin' around. It's like a Jeep."

The male body just isn't asthetically pleasing as the female body, so it's played for laughs mostly (hence all the fat naked men in movies). When it's not for comedy, most people don't seem to know how to react, so they'll default to laughter. I'm not going to rule out the immaturity factor though.

I am gay as well. But regardless of my preference I am not gonna freak out and be like " Oh my good a vagina....grosss!!!" Especially not in the middle of a movie theatre or such.
