Hank was a child prodigy in the comics. He was smarter than his own parents by the time he was 5 years old.
but he was'nt ant man when he was a child, so its irrelevant

Why is it hard to believe that Hank Pym was as much a child prodigy as Tony Stark?
Good question.Didn't Tony like create dummy when he was 17 if I recall correctly?
he wasnt a child prodigy when he became antman, if you want to stick to the real time timeline then stick to iot. you can't make up your own rules or it's flawed
no it's not hard to beleive, but ye want to stick to real time, you can't pick and choose how it works. was hank a child prodigy in 1962 when he became antman?? no. can't have your cake and eat it too

no he didn't. he did'nt create anything like that until he needed to which was his origin.
your thinking of ultimate iron man
Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym, is an American biochemist with extensive knowledge in various scientific fields, married Maria Trovaya, a brave and beautiful young woman who had been a political dissident in her native Hungary, from which she had fled. Naively believing that his American citizenship would protect her, Henry and Maria Pym traveled to Hungary shortly after their marriage. The Pyms were confronted by agents of the secret police there. Henry Pym was knocked unconscious and Maria was murdered. Pym was greatly distraught by his wife's death, and decided to do whatever he could in the future to battle injustice and inhumanity[1].18 counts (did they specify his age in his debut issue?). That would make him 71 by 2015. I would say that lines up with Michael Douglas perfectly.

Back in the United States, Pym discovered a rare group of subatomic particles, which have become known as the "Pym Particles." Pym was able, through the application of magnetic fields, to entrap the particles within two separate serums. One serum would reduce the size of persons and objects,
wow he really got a lot in before he was 18
I think its pretty obvious this is whats going to happen:
They are going to have TWO HENRY PYM ANT-MANS. One in the past (played by an unknown actor) and one in the present day(Michael Douglas) who passes the mantle to scott lang. I believe there will also be TWO WASPS. Obviously one played by a younger actress and one closer to michael douglas' age.

The multiquote button is there for a reason.
I can actually picture all of that being said in a montage about his life similar to Tony Stark's at the beginning of Iron Man.
Will be funny to see the reaction if Marvel turned Pym into an old man in the comics now.
War, blood and death are not funny things
Naturally people have an issue with the whole age thing and Tom Brevoort put this up when answering a fan about whether or not it would translate to the comics:Will be funny to see the reaction if Marvel turned Pym into an old man in the comics now.
Theres a line in one of the early Ant-Man stories about Hank being twice Jans age. So if she was 18 when they met and she became the Wasp, that would make Hank 36. And since then, around 13 years have passed. So yes, Hank is relatively older than many of the other characters from that era, hes more a contemporary of Reed Richards and Ben Grimm.
I actually want exactly that. A Fantastic Four movie set in the 60s would be awesome as well.
I was gonna say.
Wright said the opening story is in the 60s; he didn't specify 1962. Although, truth be told, it's a good guess, with Astonishing Tales and the Bay of Pigs and such. Then again, Marvel risks the fancry of "ripoff of XMFC" if they do the Cuban Missile Crisis again. Besides, I'm sure that if they're fictionalizing Castro into "Castillo," they'll fictionalize Cuba into some made up banana republic (*koff* Santa Prisca *koff*).
I'm clearly new to the forum, i can't get the multi quote to work for me.
Never considered that, they are kinda ripping off Fox abit.

I'll never understand how people can deem a project doomed or bad before they've actually seen ANYTHING from the project itself. Those people then either hype it up as terrible and their viewing is ruined or envisioned something else in their own minds going in and the experience is ruined because its not what they pictured./QUOTE]
You just won the Internet.
Me too I hope they end up that way what with the First Class characters being in the past, though it'll probably be eighties now unless Fox introduces them first in the 60s then in the eighties in sequels

I always find it odd when people get very uppity about a movies changes from a the comic and really are against it but then go to see it anyway.
