Homecoming Michael Giacchino is the Composer for Spider-Man: Homecoming

As long as the music does not contain lyrics such as:

"he lied to me... he's using me... blah blah blah THAT SPIDER-MAN!"

Horner stated in an interview (back in April of 2015) that he wasn't asked to come back for TAS-M2. He also never saw it and said "it was mistakenly printed that he detested the film."

Oh okay. Had no idea, thanks for showing me that. It makes sense now that I think about it, considering that Horner said he and Webb got along just fine. Sony probably hired Zimmer and his team, because they wanted to the music be modern and have lots of "bwamms" (although if they did, he didn't exactly deliver on that), or something.

It felt a little anti-climatic I suppose.

Unfortunately, it didn't do well enough to warrant a sequel, so we're stuck with Ruffalo as Hulk showing up in random Avengers films, and the occasional cross-over / team-up like Ragnarok.
 
Post-Avengers, we deserve a Hulk sequel.

That's cool. Expecting a lot of piano chords to be playing in the background. Hopefully he gives Spidey a heroic enough theme though.

Not too familiar with Giacchino, but does he do a lot of piano? I really enjoyed his work on STRANGE. Thought he did a good job taking us into the mystical realm of the MCU. Good theme, too.

Other then this movie and Doctor strange I know he did star wars rouge one and Jurassic world. R1 music I really missed Williams but you are talking about the best ever that he was trying to replace same thing with JW. Up in till a few years ago I had never heard of him and now he is like the big guy for doing movie scores. Was just looking and didn't realize he did dawn of the plant of the apes and I do like that movies score.
 
His music is fantastic, one of my favourite composers currently working.

His Rogue One soundtrack had some really great pieces.

I don't particularly like JW (even though Jurassic Park is one of my favourite films of all time) I still thought his score was the best thing about that film.

Not to mention his past work.

Yeah, I know he's the big thing right now. Came from LOST, too, even though I didn't watch that.

He's done so much already. *Really* looking forward to his Spidey score.
 
Although I recently rewatched Strange and found myself really enjoying the score, it wasn't particularly memorable to me. I really want something iconic like Elfman's Batman or the Superman theme, or to a lesser degree, the Elfman Spider-Man theme as well.
 
That seems to fall in line with that notion from a few months ago that very little of the music in the MCU is memorable. Though I do still find myself listening to The Star Spangled Man with a Plan and the main theme to The Avengers.

I'm sure Homecoming will have something memorable and heroic sounding, but to the level of the Batman or Superman themes? Or the music from the Raimi films? I doubt that.

I mean, unless the main theme was an orchestral rendition of the theme to Spectacular Spider-Man.
 
Cap's theme in FIRST AVENGER, the AVENGERS theme, GUARDIANS theme, and even STRANGE's theme are pretty solid. They all match the characters pretty well, the best being the AVENGERS' theme of course.

I doubt they'd mess up Spidey.

Your link is broken (at least for me)

I'm sad to see it'll only play over the logo. I thought this was gonna be the actual theme and it is giving me chills. They made it sound SO good. Like serious good. It doesn't sound nearly as goofy or silly as I would've feared had you told me they were gonna recreate the classic theme.
