‘Guardians Vol. 2’ Adds Michael Rosenbaum As Mystery Marvel Character

The Guardians of the Galaxy are back this May as Star-Lord and his team go on new adventures as Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going forward. James Gunn, who directed the first installment, recently revealed on The Adam Carolla Show that Smallville star Michael Rosenbaum will be joining the MCU in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

He also confirmed that Sylvester Stallone will be playing a “very important” Marvel character who is appearing in the sequel. According to Gunn, Rosenbaum is also playing a Marvel related character, while not revealing the identity of his character.

“We do have a couple of characters who are very important to the Marvel Universe who are going to make their debut in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 which people don’t know about. Sylvester Stallone plays one of these characters. My friend Michael Rosenbaum also has a pretty decent movie in the role as well and it sort of works in tandem with Sly’s character.”

I think both characters will have limited screen time but play a very important role in the mission. I also don't expect them to be long term characters.

Still the best Luthor but i really can't get used to him with hair. Anyway Rosenbaum is a really good friend of Gunn so i believe he will give him a cool cosmic role. maybe an Eternal or something lthough those are rumored to appear in Ragnarok.

Rosenbaum was the ONLY Lex Luthor I've ever liked, so it's great to see him landing a role in such a high profile project. No idea who he's playing though.

Reilly's character wasn't that important they could've easily substituted anyone. Del Toro I'm still banking on being in IFW because I believe he still has the Aether.

I'm not familiar with this character, so I googled him... why does every picture depict him holding Cap's shield??

It involves time travel and alternate realities.

Should be interesting to see what they do with him though and if he gets the shield at any point.
