Time to talk about Michael Shannon, Zod's corpse, and whatever role would require Shannon to wear flippers that prohibit him from escaping a bathroom stall.

Speculate.

Out of all the threads on the BvS forums THIS by far wins the award for most 'epic' name given to a thread :lmao:

I can't lie I wanted Metallo, but Zod getting reanimated into some weird body morphed Bizzaro is cool too. I can't wait to see superman go head to head with him though. I Wonder how the trinity will take him down.
*or doomsday

I still think that once the trinity fight him he will be unrecognizable and just look like doomsday. I think that part with Zod with the "flippers" will be his claws starting to show.

Well in the Justice League Unlimited cartoon doomsdays origins were that cadmus got some DNA from Superman and used this to create the ultimate weapon capable of killing Superman.

My guess is that their gonna go that route in terms of the DCEU origin of doomsday.

Zod's DNA + Lexcorp sceince = Doomsday.

I'm expecting Shannon to be lifeless and stiff in this role.

So much for killing Zod. I wonder if he'll do voice work.

Maybe they'll play the idea that Clark didn't kill Zod, just defeated him to the point of near death, like in the comics when doomsday killed superman, but he wasn't actually dead, just in a coma. And Lex will just revive him with enhancements.

He quite clearly has no interest in this role. Even from what we see of him in the trailer, it's evident he's phoning it in.

Michael Shannon is perfect casting for Zod's corpse considering Michael Shannon played Zod in MOS.

Well done, Snyder.

It's his deadpan line delivery that made him a key contender for the role....

All joking aside though, I'm quite surprised that they didn't have Superman remove the corpse after MOS. Seems a bit careless to leave an alien body just lying around?

I imagine the flippers aren't what we're getting on screen, but are greenscreen prosthetics he's wearing. In which case, he's going to either have very big hands or mutated/deformed appendages. Which definitely shoulds Doomsday to me.

Well, I'm sure there's going to be an explanation for what became of the body - Kal showing his willingness to work with humanity or wanting to know more about himself or some such.

(mostly, I just wanted to post in this thread because the title is so awesome :woot:)

ETA: Do we know how long Michael Shannon was on set?

so mocap CGI doomsday with likness of Shannon who is already scary guy... That is perfect. And Doomsday is midnless killing machine so thats perfect for story, no llong or short origins, no feelings, no story behind why and where....

Speaking of Shannon, I was watching the extended movie experience, or whatever it's called, on the MOS bluray second disc, and when Shannon pops on screen, he is the most dry, bland speaking guy ever.

So hard to tell when he's making a joke, lol. Also so weird seeing that contrast with his acting.

haha yeah I love his interviews. The interviewers rarely get that he is joking.

that means Superman techicaly didnt kill anybody. :)

I feel like that interview belongs in 'The Deat of Superman Lives' for the sheer weirdness.

Interesting, seems more likely than ever that Zod becomes Doomsday.

I think Michael Shannon is the perfect actor to bring this role to life...er...death? Whatever...

I did prefer he be a version of Doomsday over Bizzaro, as Bizzaro should and always be a malformed version of Superman.
