Pretty gripping finale. Even though we knew how it would all end, there seemed to be that glimmer of hope at the start when they got communication to the outside.

There's never going to be a definitive answer on whether the Davidians or ATF started the fire, is there?

No mainly because the government mishandled the whole thing. So they can't release anything else because it would paint them in a very bad light then what they already are seen in.

I did see a documentary where it was established the ATF started shooting first, so I'm a bit more on the Davidians side. I was surprised at how many instances of prior tear gas fires there were, I only knew about the SLA one because I had just watched the Patty Hearst special on CNN. They never should have used it in Waco, it's not like the building was very well made. No surprise it went up so fast.

Just like no one bringing any communications at the beginning of the raid. Regardless of how one feels about the Branch Davidians and their responsibility in all this, it's hard not to blame the ATF and FBI for these ridiculous oversights.

You can only hope that they've learned enough from it to never be that far out of control again.

Yeah that was a sad episode, and while I knew nothing about the actual event I had a feeling it wouldn't end well for the people in that compound. Fantastic series though and I look forward to more shows on Paramount Network. Yellowstone looks especially promising.
